By his team tricking the rest of the top colleges in the conference into the idea that "We need to upgrade at head coach". His return to the SEC helped Alabama but in the long term its led to the rest of the conference declining.

Well he definitely killed the East by spreading his shitty disciples around.

One school was dumb enough to give one of them a second chance

which coaches fired during his tenure were irrational and due to saban's success, as opposed to just their time had run its course?

#1 you know i realize you were born in 1995 and all but i thought TJGator was the most pathetic SECr poster. You're giving him a run for his money.

#2 Side note: has anyone else noticed how over the years many newish Alabama fans haven't identified their flair as such?

I think it just leads to less recycled coaches (see: Nutt).

I agree, the overall quality of coaches in the SEC was better when Saban arrived 10 years ago.

Not an Alabama fan. If you followed my other posts, you'd get a hint.

Georgia is 5-2 at best under Richt, the only difference being Nicholls and Vanderbilt are blowouts. Maybe 4-3 with Vandy and North Carolina swapped and the former game being a blowout.

Auburn, LSU, and Georgia all didn't need to fire their coach. But they did. LSU hasn't actually improved and it'll be proven soon. Maybe not tomorrow, but very soon...

Auburn has been to 2 NC games since $aban was hired, so thanks for sabotaging us?

and you think it's because of saban lol.

Tubs left in 08 so saban wasn't relevant to them yet. Chiz went 8-5 and 3-9 following 10. That has little to do with saban and much to do with "holy hell we are absolutely terrible with this guy, let's get someone else".

LSU is the most acceptable answer of the group, but I still don't buy it. Miles has been there 11 years and over the last 8.5 years all he has to show is 1 SEC title. Their fans wanted him fired for years, it's only now happening.

UGA is by far the least realistic answer, in fact it's so unrealistic it's a waste of keystrokes to even respond, but I will. Richt played saban 4 times at bama going 1-3. We don't play them regularly at all and don't really concern ourselves with them other than some recruiting battles. Our coach had been here FIFTEEN years and hadn't won a league title in 10. We got stagnant and stale and a change was clearly needed. And that has literally zero to do with saban.

Until I see them on the Bama board, I'm pretty skeptical. Bama probably has the second most alters after LSU. Can't speak for the op though.

There was 5 NC winning coaches in the SEC in '08
Saban, Fulmer, Myers, Spurrier, Miles

Now we are down to 1.

I think it affects our school in a way that we were set on going after a proven coordinator under Saban, unfortunately that is a big risk. This, in turn, has led to the season where we are currently at.

I can see the desire to hire Kirby (Saban coaching tree, good recruiter), but coordinator hires work out less often than they do work out, and anyone could recruit well at UGA. Not sure we will get to the point where we have good coaching decisions at the top, but we will see.

I think Saban did have something to do with Tubs getting fired.

That's a silly statement that not a single Auburn fan would agree with.
