"No, I really don't. I don't see it ever happening, and I know every year somebody has me going somewhere else," Saban told ESPN.com in a wide-ranging interview. "I think a lot of it isn't just about the coaching part. What people don't understand is they forget you're a person. They forget you have a wife and two kids and a grandbaby, and they all live in Birmingham.
"They all work here. My wife goes to Birmingham five times a week. My mom lives in Birmingham now after moving from Myrtle Beach. It's not just the job. A lot of people don't get that. My life is here."

So he'll retire on Lake Martin...doesn't mean he won't retire sooner rather than later.

And here we have it. And an LSU fan at that. Go figure.

I think the rest of the world has accepted Bama is Saban's last coaching gig.
At this point people are just desperately hoping he retires sooner rather than later.

what? Saban isn't young. He's not going to coach forever. He'll retire at Alabama.

I think LSU fans are hoping he has a heart attack or car wreck on the way to/from work one day tbh.

Go ahead and change your favorite team icon to Bama. You've been dick riding them pretty hard lately. It's pretty embarrassing.

Texag and you are e-buds. Don't deny your love for each other.

Does he look or act like someone who is ready to call it quits and sit on the porch swing all day?
And why would he retire to Lake Martin when that's not where he owns lake property? I believe it's lake Burton in GA where he has his lake house. Possibly the same lake as Smart and Cochran.

I remember when he told Michigan State that about leaving for LSU.
I remember when he told LSU that about leaving for Miami.
I remember when he told Miami that about leaving for Alabama.
Did you spot the pattern yet?

regardless of Saban's (remarkable) success at Alabama, he is not getting any younger. Considering the program he has built and the power base within the state of Alabama, why would he EVER consider leaving unless retirement or illness made it so?
What few people outside of Alabama realize is that Nick Saban is the most powerful man in the state. That includes the fricking Governor. Honestly, if Saban said a dude needed to be commuted from Death row to Life, I think it would happen.
