So he's slinging out all sorts of sage advice about (unpaid) student-athletes, in the wake of his backup QB transferring:

quote:

"My dad used to say the grass is always greener on the top of the septic tank. It always looks better someplace else," Saban said. "So you think, instead of facing your fear and overcoming adversity and making yourself better through competition, you go someplace else thinking it'll be better there. Until you face your fear, you're always going to have some of those issues and problems."

LSU says hello, Nick

quote:

"There's certain pride people have in competition. There's certain things I was taught growing up about not quitting and seeing things through. I think if I'd come home and told my dad that I was going to quit the team, I think he'd have kicked me out of the house. I don't think I'd have had a place to stay. Sometimes you didn't have the choices."

The Miami Dolphins said hello, too.

Must be nice to have 7-figure paydays to fall back on when things "aren't working out." Guess who doesn't have those, you arrogant prick? The student athletes.

I consider Saban a good guy for realizing that his black football players are being targeted by the white supremacist police officers from the south.

BB leaving is akin to you leaving a job when you were in the middle of a very important project. You leave the rest of your coworkers in the lurch as you were a vital part of that project. I think this is what has NS so disappointment as a lot of coaching hours has been put into him and then he leaves after game 4 cuz he is not the starter. The 3rd and 4th string QB get virtual no reps per a former player. Their reps come from running the scout teams. So now the team has to get someone prepared to be the back up and enter the game if Hurts goes down.

Totally correct. I remember when CNS left both the Tigers and the Dolphins right in the first third of the season. It is the literal exact same situation that he is referencing in terms of Barnett. You are the smartest poster on the board without a doubt.

I fail to see where Saban left LSU or Miami in the middle of the season.
