That would be tied with Bear Bryant for the third most in history.

So 65 after this weekend.
3 more ranked teams to play this season, SEC Championship, playoff game, national championship. So he'll have 71 after this year. 2 more years and he'll be first on that list

Look at the winning percentages for Saban and Bryant compared to the other three coaches on the list.

That's it.
I am just bunkering down and waiting for Saban to have a stroke on the field.

Can't argue with that!

Can't believe Steve Spurrier is even mentioned with those other 4

That list looks like a pretty good Mt. Rushmore of cfb. HBC gets the final slot over Paterno for obvious reasons (I loved Paterno but at the very least he was grossly negligent (and perhaps was far worse)).

Does the current 64 count the times that a ranked Bama team beats themselves?

Spurrier would've been higher if he had gone to a top tier program. He didn't win the SEC, but did a really good job in Columbia. But the hbc has always enjoyed his free time, and I don't blame him.
I expect Saban to go somewhere in between those guys. He won't work into his late seventies, because he's too much of a perfectionist to accept 7-8 win seasons. But I also expect him to go a couple years past hbc. He's got significantly more resources and support, and had the workaholic personality. 71-72 would be my guess. Longer if he's willing to delegate more responsibility into his coordinators.
The only wildcard, imo, is his wife. But she is beloved in the Tuscaloosa and Birmingham community. Being the coaches wife in Alabama is like being the first lady. She may love the spotlight. How many other coaches wives are known by opposing fans?
TL, DR: Bama stacked. SEC fricked

Saban is obviously best of that bunch, just look at win %.
In fairness to the others, their numbers would be higher but they coached a big chunk of their careers (particularly Bryant) when the poll was just 20 teams, not 25. In the 60's for about 5 years it was actually just 10 teams.
The AP didn't go to 25 till 88 or 89.

If he hadn't left Florida, he'd be at the top of it with a comfortable cushion.

Shouldn't they use EOS rankings instead?
