Strike out hire IMO:

Kendall Rogers ? @KendallRogersD1
COACHING NEWS: @Vol_Baseball and Tony Vitello have hired @UHCougarBB pitching coach Frank Anderson. That’s a really nice coup for #Vols.
5:14 PM - 14 Jun 2017

Anderson, 58, has spent the last five seasons as an assistant at Houston. He was head coach at Oklahoma State from 2004-12 after Division I stops as an assistant at Texas (2000-03) and Texas Tech (1990-99).

Oklahoma State went 329-208 in nine seasons under Anderson, with the Cowboys reaching one NCAA Super Regional and five Regionals.

Houston's pitching staff in 2016 finished second nationally and was first in the American Athletic Conference, for a third straight season, with a 2.48 ERA. Houston ace Andrew Lantrip was No. 1 in the nation in strikeout-to-walk ratio (16.80) and walks allowed per nine innings (0.50).

Vitello gave us one massive parting gift in this recruiting class.

High end talent that wanted to play college ball.

You are going to love Frank Anderson. He's a damn good pitching coach and turns good pitchers into great pitchers.

Frank is a good hire. He's a little bit chirpy, and I'll take credit for getting him ejected from a game once. It was back when Frank was the head coach at Oklahoma State. Small crowd for a day game against A&M (then again, it was always a small crowd when I went to Stillwater), and Frank had been chirping at the umpires for quite awhile complaining about balls and strikes (which was nothing unusual. Frank had been out to have a discussion with the umpire a couple of batters before and been let off with a warning, but he still was chirping loudly enough that folks in the stands could hear him (and I was sitting on the opposite side, top row, not close to the field at all). So, I hollered at the ump, loud enough for everyone to hear, that Frank was showing him up by still complaining and that he should put a stop to it. The umpire took off his mask, looked at the dugout, and told Frank to shut up, at which point Frank came out from the dugout and was promptly tossed. I thought the OSU fans were going to run me out of the park for a while. Good times.
