6k?

Yep, can't move it from Hoover. Other stadiums that can seat 15k if necessary aren't big enough.

The team that brought far and away the most fans (LSU Tigers) was eliminated last night bro.

Hoover is a helluva place to spend a Holiday weekend.

It's because it was Vanderbilt vs Florida. Attendance would have been worse most other places suggested here, but Vandy has a big alumni base in Birmingham. According to the radio most fans there were casual local baseball fans.

Some folks on here said that the crowd is primarily made up of locals. I think his point is that you can probably find 5-6K locals in Nashville or Memphis willing to attend and also open it up to the other pro-baseball schools in the SEC.

Yep. Would've had larger numbers in Nashville or Memphis, no doubt.

Hell, I'm not a fan of either team but I would've went down just to catch a game. Then go eat and enjoy downtown.

Several years ago on the Sunday championship game, they had a really incredible Memorial Day service before the game and right before first pitch, our eyes fixed on the event on the field, they had 3 or 4 of the stealth bombers (the ones you don't hear coming but blow your arse away once they pass)come in straight over centerfield. Goose bumps as I type this.
Memorable on Memorial Day for sure! Thanks to our fallen soldiers!

You didn't just write that. Really? So what else; a big shindig, clog dancing and when the moonshine runs out cock fighting?

Downtown has tons to offer, but I don't think it has cock fighting. You could go to the Opry and see some clogging though.

Many fans probably didn't want to spend a holiday weekend in Hoover. I'm sure many more would like to spend that weekend in Nashville, New Orleans, Atlanta, or Mobile.

Most bars downtown sell Ole Smoky moonshine, so I guess you could do that as well. Let me know if you need anymore info.
