Winners
— John Lynch and 49ers
— Deshaun Watson and Texans
— Jets
— Browns
— Wide receivers
— Saints
— Jabrill Peppers
— Giants and Evan Engram
— Patriots
Losers
— Raiders
— Bears
— Marshon Lattimore
— Chiefs
— O.J. Howard
Howard was supposed to go much earlier than No. 19 to the Buccaneers as the first Alabama player taken, but as a luxury tight end pick, he was third off the board from the Tide. He was doomed to free-fall as soon as the Bills traded out of No. 10.
On the bright side, he's a great fit as another big, field-stretching target for Jameis Winston.
— Reuben Foster
Unlike Peppers, Foster carried a little more so-called "character" concern. He got passed up by many teams who could have used him, including the Bengals, Cardinals, Colts, Redskins, Lions and Raiders.
Expect him to pay off for the 49ers and make everyone else pay for not taking a sure tackling machine.
— All Alabama players
Cornerback Marlon Humphrey was the first taken, and that was No. 16 to Baltimore. Along with Howard and Foster, one-time projected first overall prospect Jonathan Allen fell to No. 17 (Redskins). In the end, it was nuts to see that many teams ignore high-level, pro-style talents out of Nick Saban's program.
— Dalvin Cook
— Offensive linemen

O.J. Howard is a loser for going 19th to a team where he will be running free in the secondary and catching balls from one of the best young QBs in the NFL? He's a tight end, anybody would expected him to go in the Top 10 was an idiot to begin with.
He's in an ideal situation. I'm terrified of him and that offense as a Falcons fan. That's stupid.

He lost a lot of money short term. He is, however, in a far better situation on the field and will likely see a bigger second contract.

Even then, I'm not sure what the realistic expectation for him was. I mean, did serious people really expect him to be a Top 7 pick? I always assumed he'd fall somewhere between 10-20.
And he's at a position where if you go to a bad place without a QB your career can completely stall. He's in the opposite of that. Of all our guys I think he got the best all around deal last night.

I agree with you. If he can stay healthy and be a great professional, whatever he lost last night will be more than made up in the larger future contracts.
There's a shite ton of people out there that would love to be in his predicament

My ravens are losers. Humphrey? With Foster still on the board or Ramzyck? Both would have filled positions of need better. I would have even taken Allen for overall value pick. This pick doesn't make sense. This is why we're trending down.
But hey, we didn't trade up to number 2 for that clown from UNC.

OJ lost some money but ends up a winner because that Tampa offense is now stacked. JohnLynch is a bandit and should be arrested. Deshaun Watson will be starting by mid October. The Saints got two starters. OBJ is so happy right now about Engram, the Giants just gave the league some serious matchup problems. The Bears must have let Mike Ditka into the draft room to pick.

Winner: Houston mf Texans.
This is the first time we drafted a QB in the first round since year 1 and David bitchass Carr.

If I'm a Browns fan I'm pretty damn happy about that 1st round, with 2 1st round picks next year as well.

OJ Howard is garbage. He will blow in the NFL

Very happy withe the move they made as a Texan fan. Watson was the only QB at the top of the draft that I actually thought could be special. I also don't mind giving up some future in doing so because with the defense we have, we need to try and win now or as soon as possible.

"Winners" and "Browns" do not go in the same sentence.

Winston and Howard will be a deadly combination in the NFL.
Look for Howard to be rookie of the year. If you play fantasy football, make him a high pick.

First off to be called a loser on the draft when you tie a school record for first round draft picks is asinine. Second, the Saints won? They got beat out on two picks and took a DB way too high

My thoughts exactly. Sure Trubisky and Mahomes are fine but Watson's upside is SO much bigger.
