What do you think their capacity numbers would be if they had normal sized seating?
Let's see.....
101,000 seats divided by 2 (#of butt cheeks on the avg. person) = 50,500 people!....ain't math amazing?

Sweet checkerboard. How did that game go for the Vols?

Neyland got loud as frick in the 2013 UGA game after the North TD followed by the blocked punt. Even two of my Georgia buddies that went were like "hooooly shite this place is loud".

ESPN Tweeted during that game: "Knoxville, TN is the loudest place on earth right now"

Oh you know, UF starts a freshman QB in the 2nd half who does just enough to beat us by 1, then gets suspended the day after. Typical.

Neyland is the smallest, quietest 100,000 + venue in the world. I went to an LSU game there and LSU's fans drowned out Tennessee's during THEIR pregame. The stadium was mostly full too. They even mic their band. I was a little let down by the atmosphere, but their fans were an absolute class act. I didn't meet a single a-hole down there. Everyone was gracious, courteous, and sincerely wanted us to enjoy ourselves. It was a nice change of pace from visiting Gainesville.

Wow? 270 luxury and club box seats? That's it?

He said 270 DEGREES of luxury and club box seats. Over all, Arkansas' Reynold Razorback Stadium has more premium seating than anyone elses' stadium except LSU's Tiger Stadium.

Compared with Neyland, RRS has 132 suites and 8,900 club seats while Neyland has 120 suites and 4,000 club seats.

Just the facts.

I like to hate on Tenn, but the answer to that particular trivia question is undoubtedly:

You don't need a bowl when you have 270* of luxery club and box seats that serve alcohol.

Or you could have both.

Which game was that? The game y'all won like 41-17 or something like that was the only year that this could have happened. This is the only game that this could have maybe been a true statement. Other times the games were close, at night, and both teams were ranked.

The LSU 13 men on the field game in Baton Rouge was the quietest game I've ever been to and it was a close game.

I agree that that game was pretty quiet. The crowd was more pissed and disgusted the whole game rather than rowdy. They didn't get loud until the ball went over Jefferson's head. That whole ending was one of the more bizarre endings I've ever seen.

2006 was a prime time game featuring two top 15 teams and the atmosphere still sucked.

9 years ago. 2007 Auburn, 2013 LSU, and this past years Auburn games all immediately come to mind as crowds that were very loud.

I'll never forget my wife's reaction the first time she entered Neyland.

"I thought you said it seats more than Bryant-Denny. It's so little."

I've heard the small seat jokes for years now but is it really bleacher seats throughout the whole stadium???

Yes but the bleaches are about 3 inches from each other. Absolutely no leg room. your knees are resting on the shoulders of the person in front of you.
