What's your take coming out of Spring going into the year. Strengths and Weakness for the upcoming year. Do you have a QB to run Sumlins system?

Strengths:

Running Backs, DT, Secondary (Return 4 seniors)

Weakness:

DE, OL, QB

OL we return 3 starters, and the 4th guy with 2 years experience of play time.

QB - Inexperienced Young Talent

DE - 4 non-freshmen scholarship DE's, 2 true FR DE

*Pass Rush is going to be weak unless we blitz. Expect to see a 3-4 ran more this year.

7-5 we suck again

I didn't know that you guys were that against Sumlin, interesting. What record keeps him safe and what record pushes him over the edge?

8-4 probably gets him fired. And I don't think he can win 8 games.

Ask Jim Wilson. That fricktard is the reason he has a guaranteed contract.

Are you serious, Clark?

You'd be okay with pouring over half a billion dollars into facilities upgrades and $5MM per year in head coach salary alone while your biggest in-state recruiting competition is doing terrible only to end up at 8 wins every year?

this here. A horrible season forces Wilson's hand, but it starts with him.

Gov. Abbott's not reappointing him to the BoR helps, but the damage has been done.

Is Sumlin telling the players to not quit after the Bama loss next year? Or, is it business as usual?

At that point, it's likely A&M would be 2-4 with wins over Nicholls and UL-Lafayette.

We're not going to pay $10 million in lump sum buyout to fire a coach that goes 8-4. At 7-5, they'd talk about it, but probably not pull the trigger. At 6-6, they would pass the hat and see if someone wanted to pay a significant chunk of the buyout. Otherwise, Sumlin will get another year (after which his buyout is a more manageable, but still way too large, $5 million).

As to the OP, our only hope of having a good year is if the offensive line improves tremendously. If it does, the QB will look better, and it will take the pressure off the defense (Chavis's numbers were so bad last year due in part to the ridiculous number of plays they had to defend--some of which is on Chavis, but some of which is on the offense).

I'm hearing Dan Mullen to A&M rumors already... so yes they are ready to fire Sumlin.

Is it true that A&M extended the deadline to renew football season tickets?

No. They send you a reminder if you don't renew by the deadline. They never use the "deadline" as a drop dead date without making some effort to contact the account holder.
