You'll realize that you care about UF when we're your main competition in-conference even without Donovan.

Without Donovan you have one conference championship in your entire history.

That would be a major disappointment for this next season. We should be a solid lock for the NCAAT if the team lives up to expectations. We have to account for the loss of James Siakam, but I think we'll do that just fine with everyone else back and getting better.

I couldn't be much happier with the permanent rivals we got. We've recruited really well the last few years, and the profile of the team is rising. Hopefully, the ball keeps rolling.

That's all BS. teams should select their top rivalries for a guaranteed 2 and everything else should rotate.

We've been a top program for nearly twenty years and have a terrific natural recruiting base. We'll be fine even if we aren't quite at Donovan levels.

I'd much rather they gave us Arkansas instead of Florida, since that's actually a rivalry.

How so?

UK and UT are their historic rivals so that makes perfect sense. Gators will probably slip without Billy D but it is not like Gator fans show up in Memorial so not sure that helps VU's gate.

It was done to preserve Tennessee/UK H&H

I think the SEC got the message when the teams replacing Vols in Rupp failed to generate the same ticket interest. When you have the 2 biggest venues in the SEC and a border rival you really need to keep it intact.

They did UF vs UK for the coaches matchup and now Billy D is gone. That is why you schedule history over coaches. You want games that will fill the seats no matter who is coaching.

What about Ole Miss/LSU? I thought they were "rivals" in everything.

Agreed...wish Florida was on Tennessee's list instead of South Carolina.

Out of the 3 official LSU rivals, i would rank them:

1) Arkansas
2) Texas A&M
3) Alabama

Enh, I wouldn't have minded swapping in Ole Miss for LSU. Always seems to be a good amount of cheerful hatred in basketball between those schools.

Mizzou and Arkansas are the two schools out West that love basketball so that is a natural rivalry and the SWC clique is going to play each other as often as the SEC can schedule it. I can live with this schedule.

Hey, don't get me wrong, I hope the Kentucky-Florida series continues to be good. I'm looking at this from a pure rivalry standpoint. Arkansas really sticks in our craw, and I'd wager they feel the same. The dislike of Florida stems more from Donovan and the string of guys like Walsh, Noah, Calethes, Parsons, etc. There was always one guy who'd stand out as a giant dbag.

Prior to 2014-15 season, these are the only series to surpass 200 games played.

Ole Miss-Mississippi State 250 games
Kentucky-Tennessee 217 games
Florida-Georgia 206
LSU-Mississippi State 205 games
LSU-Ole Miss 204 games

these are the individual schools most played teams;

Alabama - MSU(191), OM(173), LSU(172), AUB(149)

Arkansas - TAM(150), OM(72), ALA(57), AUB(57)

Auburn - UGA(178), UF(162), ALA(149), LSU(149)

Florida - UGA(206), AUB(162), ALA(137), UK(131)

Georgia - UF(206), AUB(178), UTK(149), UK(142)

Kentucky - UTK(217), VU(185), UGA(142), ALA(140)

Louisiana State - MSU(205), OM(204), ALA(172), AUB(149)

Ole Miss - MSU(250), LSU(204), ALA(173), AUB(128)

Mississippi State - OM(250), LSU(205), ALA(191), AUB(140)

Missouri - ARK(41), TAM(27), UTK(9), VU(8)

South Carolina - UGA(102), UF(64), UK(57), VU(53)

Tennessee - UK(217), VU(185), UGA(149), ALA(143)

Texas AM - ARK(150), LSU(28), MU(27), ALA(11)

Vanderbilt - UTK(185), UK(185), UGA(138), AUB(135)

I would have paired it more like this...

Alabama - Auburn, Ole Miss, Mississippi State
Arkansas - Kentucky, Missouri, Texas AM
Auburn - Alabama, Florida, Georgia
Florida - Auburn, Georgia, Tennessee
Georgia - Auburn, Florida, South Carolina
Kentucky - Arkansas, Tennessee, Vanderbilt
LSU - Ole Miss, Mississippi State, Texas AM
Ole Miss - Alabama, LSU, Mississippi State
Mississippi State - Alabama, LSU, Ole Miss
Missouri - Arkansas, South Carolina, Texas AM
South Carolina - Georgia, Missouri, Vanderbilt
Tennessee - Kentucky, Florida, Vanderbilt
Texas AM - Arkansas, LSU, Missouri
Vanderbilt - Kentucky, South Carolina, Tennessee

I don't recall any Wildcats trying to fight y'alls cheerleaders. I do distinctly recall Noah doing that however.

Not really.Yes,Kentucky has a huge, huge overall series lead. But I'd thin most Vandy fans are pleased with this.Lots of history and classic games over the years.Vanderbilt was Kentucky 's stiffest competition from the late fifties thru the mid 70's.yea,that was a while back, but still, this good for Vandy.
