New helmet rule is so fricking stupid

Too many kids not properly securing helmets/wearing properly fitting helmets
Seemed like a helmet came off every other play last year. Pretty big safety risk to not do anything about
Targeting rule sucks though (see vandy & usce penalty)

If your helmet fits and you keep all 4 of your straps snapped then it pretty much never comes off. And given the lawsuits filed against the NFL over concussions the NCAA is just trying to cover their asses.

I like the rule. Strap your damn helmet up tight and it rarely comes off.

Now all the kids that think they're cool cause they don't have a helmet on can sit out a play, they'll think twice about wearing their helmet properly

Agreed. One of the only good new rules. How hard is it to secure your damn helmet?

No it's not, wear it right and you wont have a problem most of the time. I was getting tired of seeing helmets come off all the time.

Who gives a shite if the helmet comes off or not. It was their decision. I don't like that if a helmet comes off the play is dead. That's bullshite.
What happens if Robinson loses his shoe. Are the going to make him sit out a play for not securing his equipment properly?

The player is dead and has to leave the field.
The leaving the field is the silly part. I agree people shouldn't be playing football without a helmet when everyone else has one.
But when they go out for a play, all they do is put the helmet back on just like they would have after it first came off.
