This is all Roger Goodell's fault. He started all this crap about safety precautions and basically making the game of football as strict as basketball.
I don't care about the face mask but it's just ridiculous what they're doing is just making it not fun for the players or fans. Also glad Mike Slive left. He was just as guilty in all this mess as anyone else.

Until Alabama is down 5 with 30 seconds to go and Kiffin is trying to run the hurry up. Then Bama will institute physical conditioning minimums for the refs so they can spot the ball in time for the gumps to whine their way down the field.

The play they need to look at is players forward progress being stopped.
Hitting a player .5 seconds after running out of bounds: 15 yards, automatic 1st down
The whole team shoving a player back 20 yards and dog-piling him 10 seconds after whistles are blown because forward progress was stopped: perfectly legal
