Did they pass the campus carry bill or did Nathan Deal veto it again?

Still up in the air. Passed house, waiting on Deal. It specifically bans certain areas, though.

quote:

The bill prohibits carrying weapons onto some parts of college campuses, including dormitories, sorority and fraternity houses, athletic events, on-campus child care centers, and areas where high-school students attend classes.

Allowing a deadly weapon into an event where mass amounts of alcohol are consumed where tens of thousands of people are emotionally invested in the outcome. What a great fricking idea

The state of Alabama is trying to pass legislation for concealed carry, no permit.

Sounds crazy to me

Allowing people to arm themselves while watching Arkansas football is extremely irresponsible

That is not smart at all.

Holy shite. So you can bring a gun, but don't dare try to sneak in an umbrella or a flask of liquor! What a moronic idea. Sad thing is, it would probably pass in every other SEC state if proposed. How stupid can the south get? They seem determined to find out.

Thank God they didn't have them last year in Fayetteville for the LSU game.

Dale and Lat would be in prison right now.

Meh. As someone who actually attends games there, unlike 97% of the people that are commenting in this thread, it's not a big deal to me at all. As stated on the first page, you could have walked in already with any type of weapon and no one would notice. The only "security" we have when entering the stadium is volunteers that casually glance in bags. I always walk right past security and straight into the stadium. This won't change anything.

If they ever allow guns into football games at Bryant Denny I may just have to sell my tickets and use that money to build a viewing studio for games.

Ain't no well in hell I'm going into games with the 85% drinking cheap liquor, carrying and getting pissed the first time we throw on 1st down.

It has been a couple of years since I last went but like Cheshire says, as long as you don't try to drive a tank into the stadium they aren't going to catch you anyway.

Booze is prohibited almost everywhere in the stadium and I can assure you that there was no great shortage of Satan's Sauce in the stands. I myself may have smuggled a bottle or two... each game... in with me.

And there's absolutely nothing stopping someone from doing it already.
