Neither LSU or UF are DBU

We are RBU.
Tommy Tuberville said so.

I think the term DBU refers to a university that trains DBs very well and they get drafted and perform well in the NFL. Interceptions while a key part of being a DB are not the determining factor. The end result of success in the nfl is the determining factor.

2. South Carolina: When the numbers got crunched, this became the most surprising selection in the entire Position U series. The Gamecocks barely edged Ohio State and LSU to be No. 2 at DBU. A case could be made that other schools have more prominent defensive backs than South Carolina. But check out this list of solid starting defensive backs who enjoyed good NFL careers: two-time Pro Bowler Johnathan Joseph, Dunta Robinson, Darian Stewart, D.J. Swearinger, Stephon Gilmore, Chris Culliver, Captain Munnerlyn, Fred Bennett, Ko Simpson, Sheldon Brown and Andre’ Goodman. The depth is remarkable for a program not often associated with DBU. Now can Will Muschamp, a defensive-minded head coach, tap into this history with the Gamecocks?

Bama has been pretty good at that too, notably at the safety position

I'll help the OP out here. Neither LSU nor UF are DBU.

What other criteria would you like to use? Number of guys who are able to cling to a roster spot in NFL? Number of guys drafted? Number of 1st rounders? Number of Pro-bowlers?
Let's have an honest dialogue on the subject. Or, we could just throw shite at each other like usual. Either way.

So can you link all the interviews of elite DB recruits where they say "Woohoo! Got my offer from Bama. Been waiting for that DBU offer."
When you don't have any luck with that, notice all the interviews that DO say that about LSU. Like pretty much all of them.

Having an NFL front 7 will do this! Just saying, although I'm surly not taking anything away from the DB's that have been at Alabama nor Florida.
