If their getting a full ride scholarship (which most people would have dreamed of getting) then no they shouldn't be getting paid

This is just the start. The 8 team playoff will be worth a billion bucks. A lot of bowls have to face demise first though.

I don't see how it's a hard argument, or how it's beneficial on any level to pay them in college.
My arguments:
-would you have to then pay every athlete in every sport the same (ex:woman's volleyball)
-if not will it dilute other sports where a great track athlete accepts football scholarship to sit on bench and get paid in football. (Any sport could work here like basketball players)
- if you do have to pay every athlete at the school: most schools entire athletic department are run off of football revenue. Very few have enough to give back to academic side, even the few that do like LSU need donations for projects like nutrition center.
- a lot of these kids get in trouble (I know I was up to no good at 18), you think more money in their pockets to blow at campus bars is a good thing?
-where does it end? High school players put in a lot of time and effort and the school makes money. You can work at 15 should they get paid?
Where is the line drawn between love of the game and career?
It will be just like title 9 everyone is equal. You think football players put in more time than cross country/track, wrestlers, baseball, swimming, basketball and so on? Who cares if their sport is more popular. UAB is D1 and can't even afford a football team much less paying every athlete at the school, but if they don't good luck getting a recruit ever again.

Players should be able to profit off their names. They should no be paid by the schools, but they should be able to get paid by a 3rd party.

That is definitely more feasible Patton. Still tricky in my opinion though. Recruiting wise.
What stops nike owner from promising to promote and sell a prospects jersey/name for attending Oregon promising millions. Can other schools compete? Or a booster offering to buy a jersey for 200k if a player signs at x school. Just way to hard to oversee.
I know players get paid under the table already, but this just opens up an all out bidding war that no one can do anything about.

Of course there should be some rules and regulations, created by someone far more qualified to decide them than me. I just think with all this money pouring into the sport, it's getting harder and harder every day to deny these kids earning potential while nearly everyone but them is making a killing.

Fair enough, everyone is entitled to their opinion.
I just see it as there is already a place for that, the NFL. Where it's all about the money and the contracts, players jumping to the highest bidder. I just enjoy the college game as it is.
