Here are some juicy tidbits.

About the errors in Shaun King's article:

quote:

Shaun King presented a one-sided summary of a 74-page document filed by Jamie Naughright’s lawyers in the case against Manning, with no balance or objectivity or apparent effort to contact Peyton Manning or Archie Manning for a response.

quote:

King and his editors either have no legal training, no access to a lawyer, or no sensitivity to when a lawyer needs to be consulted for explanation or elaboration. Judge Kornstein’s words mean only that a jury could have found that the Mannings acted with malice, not that they definitely did.

quote:

King’s loud insistence that Judge Kornstein actually and affirmatively found “clear and convincing evidence” of malice isn’t surprising, since it props up the flawed assessment of the document that King crafted on Saturday, and on which King has now doubled down. He has taken the criticism directed at him very personally (which is always a mistake), and he is now desperately groping for a silver bullet to prove that anyone who would question his work or his motives should have their own work or motives questioned.

quote:

To the trained eye, King’s work and motives should be questioned, and his failure (accidental or deliberate) to understand that key passage from Judge Kornstein’s ruling proves it not just with clear and convincing evidence, but beyond any and all doubt.

As to the rest of the latest article, King continues to erroneously blurs the line between allegation and proven, undeniable fact. Just because something is presented by one party to a lawsuit as factual doesn’t mean it actually happened. All evidence in a disputed case must be vetted through the judicial process, culminating in a jury hearing conflicting evidence and making decisions. That never happened in this case, because the case settled.

quote:

Whatever King’s motivations, he helped set an inaccurate narrative by presenting the allegations contained in the document released on Saturday not as accusations but as undeniable fact.

About Shaun King himself and his history of dishonesty:

quote:

First of all, he’s white and presenting himself as black. He said that as a child in high school he was allegedly attacked by a group of white people because he was black. Well, he wasn’t black and there were people saying that wasn’t why he was attacked and there’s no proof of it.

quote:

“I looked into this all at the time because I interviewed this guy for a job at The Undefeated months ago,” Whitlock said ... And after interviewing him I was like, ‘Holy cow.’ There’s so much suspicious, skeptical stuff to this guy that we walked away from this guy and looked into the stories he told us, and we couldn’t find proof of them.”

This doesn't prove Peyton innocent, but it definitively proves that any drivel put out by this "reporter" (including and especially his accusations against PM) is worth jack shite and should be treated accordingly.

How many athletes get away with crimes while everyone else gets the book thrown at them?

It's not about being an athlete. It's about having money. Enough to pay people off in out of court settlements. The American Way.

I guarantee 100% this wouldn't be blown up to near the extent it has if Peyton wasn't rich as frick. Lots of gold digging going on from the accuser, and agenda pushing from the press.

Or it is about twisting a story in order to grab a few minutes of undeserved fame.

I will say what I've been saying all along...

Jason Whitlock has bashed Peyton Manning for years, even last week called him overrated, ripped into him etc.etc.

When Jason Whitlock takes up for Peyton Manning in this situation and bashes Shaun King, calls him a fraud, points out the many inaccuracies you know it is bad.

Was PFM a dumbass and do something stupid, yes. Did he stick his balls in her face? According to her sworn affidavit in 1996, no. Case closed.

He lied about it apparently. This shows a picture of his dad and says he is white.

Either way, he goes to extreme lengths in order to look black. Keeps his hair short like that, when it's not at all like black people. etc.

I never even heard of the guy until the Peyton Manning story.

Mooning someone and sticking your arse and balls in their face are very, VERY different things. The more money the plaintiff thinks she can make out of this, the more her story gets twisted and exaggerated.

The entire story is bizarre. I guess Peyton's just fortunate it didn't happen in the social media era, who knows how it would've ended for him, with all the social justice warriors frantically tweeting and sharing one-sided Facebook commentaries.

His birth certificate says he is 100% white. Once that was exposed, he released a statement that his real father was a mysteriuos never to be named light skinned black man. I doubt that's true, but even if it is that still doesn't change the fact that he makes his living selling racial divisions based on half truths or outright falsehoods and also has been called out in the past for plagiarism.
