Name the ORIGINAL Big 6 in the SEC

Since almost errybody seems to have given up on football for 2017...

Without google - who can name the original "Big 6"

AND explain how and why that term came to be

In the last 50 years or so I think most say:

Alabama
Auburn
LSU

Florida
Georgia
Tennessee

I give Tennessee fans a little hell for having the 5th best pct since 1970, but they were 2nd in the SEC up until then, at least for the long standing SEC teams.

Why? They were the first six to win conference titles within the SEC.

They did get at least 1 most don't get as kids today forget they were SEC

I will not say, but you said Big 6 in the SEC which should exclude SIAA and SoCon years.

Actually, according to Stassen, up to 1960, the SEC teams with the best winning pcts were

Alabama
Tennessee
Vanderbilt
Ga Tech
LSU
UGA
