I can admit that these jobs are more highly regarded than LSU:
- Alabama
- Michigan
- Ohio State
- Texas
- USC
- Notre Dame

After those, what jobs are better than LSU? Everyone here seems to insist that LSU isn't a top job. So go ahead, name some schools that are better. Provide some reasoning for your picks.

*LSU checks off all of the following, let's see how many schools can also check off all of these*:

+ top 4 recruiting state in America
+ no in state competition for those recruits
+ plays in the best conference/division
+ roster loaded with talent and depth (#3 composite average only behind USC and Alabama according to 247)
+ one of the best homefield advantages in football along with top facilities

ETA:

Jobs that are on the same level as LSU:

Florida
Georgia
Oklahoma

Consensus: LSU is a top 10 job in the country...

Add Oklahoma, Nebraska and Florida...but you are not far from any of those or the rest of your list.

After those schools it's like a 7-way tie. LSU is somewhere among those 7.

You are about 90% correct, except....

USC is great on scenery, but how much winning are they doing as of late? How's their rank in recruiting? USC is tradition, and some kids don't care about that.

Notre Dame is another one based on tradition, but look at the program in recent years.

This isn't 1949. On money, you are 100% correct. On tradition, you are 100% correct. Currently? LSU is in the top ten at the VERY least.....every day of the week. I'll even give A&M a nod.

I don't really consider this a selling point. Who wants to compete with the GOAT?

Us

Our facilities are way better, our stadium is bigger, we will pay more and we have lower expectations. Oh and we are the only SEC team in the second best state for talent period (and not that per capita bullshite).

We are a better job than LSU in 2016.

Fine, I edited out the maybe for Notre Dame. They have lost a lot of their luster in recent years, aren't in a major conference, and aren't able to get a lot of the top talent in the South.

But based on history alone I'll give them a spot.

Where a team ranks as a program all time is not the list of how attractive it's job is today. Notre Dame alone proves that.
