Two things imo and both involve money:
1. ESPN paid bazillions for the SEC tv contract and televise the BSC Champ game now.

2. IF, and I say if, Mack Brown retires then ESPN has a stake in who they would like to see at Texas. Again, paid a huge chunk to Texas for the Longhorn network and they'd want Saban in Texas. Not saying Bama couldn't match any offer because they would and could but ESPN is pretty powerful.

Remember it's all about money and getting the best return on investment. Has nothing to do with what's fair or not.

Of course this is my opinion. Flame away but you have to agree it's all about the money.

Closer game, people stay tuned in 4 quarters. All about the money. ESPN tries to act objective but they're completely full of shite.

This and ONLY this:

Collusion, corruption and incestuous ESPN relations.

If you’re wondering why nearly every voice at ESPN is united in proposing the single argument that there IS no argument on who should be playing LSU… If you’re wondering how a network that usually encourages us to debate every possible nuance of CFB has now for two weeks been unified in selling us a single message, I remind you of this little ditty:

The Entertainment and Sports Programming Network recently paid $2.25 billion, that’s with a B, for broadcasting rights to the SEC for 15 years…AND ESPN now owns the BCS Title Game.

I see you spent a lot of time on this. That is to be commended, but maybe you should spend that time on something worthwhile like masturbation.

I'm sorry, but I seriously doubt that ESPN is this evil, behind-the-scenes kingmaking entity that some of you seem to think it is.

Texas is gonna hire whomever the best man is to restore their prominence. ESPN's got nothing to do with it.

WHAT?!?? Objective?! Far from it. They are entrenched into the campaign of making sure Bama gets in.

They certainly didn't try last night during Okie State's win. Never has a victor been so shite upon by the announcers.

My point, which y'all missed, is that ESPN purports to be an objective observer. In reality, however, we know that they're not but they try to give off that vibe that they're not making decisions based on executives running ratings numbers and telling them what to say, because they are acting as if those are just their unbiased opinions, nothing more. It's a sham.

I never said that. Unless you're responding to the OP.
