My proposal to stop the incessant showboating

I'm sick of seeing average players showboat after every average play they make. It's disgusting. Used to I would look forward to such animation on the field because it only seemed to happen after great plays by great players. I swear, if I see one more player do the "I'm crazy" circular hand gesture I'm going to break my TV.
So here's my proposal to fix this. At the beginning of each season, no one on any team can do a celebrating or taunting dance/movement/gesture - if they do it's a 15 yard penalty. Each time a team wins a game, they can select one player on their team to be a "power up player" for the rest of the season. There would be a max of 6 "power up players" on each team (only bowl eligible teams would get the max). The "power up player" is give freedom to "get crazy" after he or his teammates makes a play or whenever he wants to pump up the crowd. All other non "power up players" must play the game without drawing attention to themselves after plays.
Great idea, huh?

I dont disagree with your overall premise.
What really irritates me is when a player on a team that is getting it's shite pushed in makes some cocky gesture for breaking up a pass or something.
Like, dude you're getting wrecked out there.

Get those rabble rousers off your GD lawn.
I hate when a db is beat and a wr drops a ball or the qb misses him and the db comes up acting like he made a play.

Seemed like after every tackle on Saturday, Auburn players were doing sack celebrations.
But I guess a stop is as good as a sack when you're that bad.

This is because your CB had a chance for a game ending pick in the end zone against aTm but instead was too busy celebrating himself, isn't it?

I'm not talking about them high fiving or throwing their arms up in the air as they watch their teammate take it to the house. I'm talking about the attention whoring, "look at me" bullshite.

So you don't want Arkansas' players to ever get to celebrate?

Exactly. It's ridiculous.

Dumb.
It shows a lack of sportsmanship.
They need to just clamp down on that shite, 15 yards for unsportsmanlike conduct whenever a player 'celebrates' before the game is over. Nothing is more retarded looking than some punk arse kid celebrating tackling a scrub for no gain when his team is losing by 35 points.

I agree that they generally look ridiculous. But, it no way would I want to stifle their actions. I'm against the penalty. Let them show us who they really are. Let cool players be cool players and let dipshits be dipshits. And then, we get to know who is who.

I'm in total agreement FWIW. Saw it all day in every conference
I don't think there should be a penalty though. It's a culture thing in the locker room
