He's 2nd on spring depth chart so far.

Mullen is the qb guy. No doubt. Credit where credit is due
But...many qbs have great spring practices and then the lights come on and the crowd is loud

Correct, but 2 things:
1- Les Miles
2- no one else, I don't think (for sure not most), recruited Dak as a QB
He was determined and Mullen saw it in him. Props to both.

I have heard Thompson has impressed to a degree MSU has never seen.

To be fair, that's not hard. Dak is the only QB that's been worth anything, and he didn't hit his stride till between his RS Soph and Junior years. The rest of the QB history is abysmal. But still certainly reason to be excited about Thompson.

No shite. Fitz is going to be the starter until he graduates. Thompson is up next. It's the next man up.
