MSU fans, your thoughts on appology from Clarion Ledger

I thought they passed the buck if you ask me. For those outside of Mississippi, our states largest news paper that was owned by an Ole Miss fan and now run by one has been as biased a paper there is.
Two of their journalist made a video a while back mocking MSU. Now we win the SEC championship and the paper tweets we won the west with help from Ole Miss.
The only good story about MSU winning the SEC was chopped up, found on page 4 in the sports section with the front page talking horse racing. Can you imagine the advocate in Baton Rouge doing that? Could you imagine Alabama's largest paper pulling that?
So the Clarion Ledger appologizes publicly after outrage and says someone on their staff "got cute."
OM fans tell us the bias is all in our heads. If Ole Miss had won the title there would have been 15 stories on every page. This is why there is little discussion about the Ncaa investigation into OM in that paper. They splash MSU all over the paper when we do something wrong but said "They are too busy" when given outside info about cheating from other journalist. That appology passed the buck blaming a "design team" in Nashville, TN was laughable.

Sounds like a poor state problem where MSU readership doesn't have to be valued

How does the Clarion Ledger cover Ole Miss Championships?
Wait..
Wait..

I can imagine that happening in Alabama.

It must suck to be viewed as a 2nd rate university in your own state.

I think it is in poor taste but I heard an interview on the radio that really got me thinking. The discussion went something like "ten years ago there would be 5-6 people in the sports department, now there are 14-15 and most are under the age of 25 with little to no experience". It got me thinking about the exact thing I see going on in my industry and there is something to say about inexperience and learning on the job. Yes it should have been caught by the editor before publication and there really isn't any excuse for that, but I can see some kid making this honest mistake.

But it wouldn't be so sad because Auburn's "been there" before. Ole Miss and State. Not so much.

Just because that's the response you get when someone screens your resume doesn't mean you should go posting it on a message board.

On a scale of Stringray to John Cohen how mad are you right now?

I'm viewed as a 2nd rate university? Makes sense.

I haven't lived in MS for 10 years now and I still remember how biased the CL was towards Ole Miss.
Some of the headlines after an Ole Miss loss were hilarious:
Rebels Let Game Slip Away; Lose 45-6

The fact I can ruffle the feathers of you two by simply popping into a thread makes me smile.
