For my birthday in 1980, my dad took me to my first Alabama game. Alabama had won national championships in 1978 and 1979, so I was pretty excited. Ironically, it was Alabama vs Georgia Tech. Alabama started off the season great until they stumbled and lost 3 - 6 to Mississippi State. In order for Bama to make the Sugar Bowl that year, they needed Georgia to lose to Florida. Hershel was typical Hershel in that game and watching that game made me a nervous wreck (catch that?). It seemed like everything was going to work out when.......well I still don't like to talk about it. It wasn't even Hershel that saved the day for the Dawgs.

Obviously the 1990 Colorado victories that featured the 5th down and 10 - 9 bowl victory were disappointing also, but Georgia Tech was still awarded the national championship in the coaches poll. The 1980 Georgia - Florida game stands out the most to me.

In retrospect, it was UGA Auburn in the prayer from Jordan Hare game.
Bama was that close to winning the SEC west that day.

Didn't think it mattered that much at the time, but Okie State losing to Iowa State in '11. All the things that could have been.

Tennessee-Kentucky in 07.

UK had SO. MANY. DAMN. CHANCES. TO. WIN. THAT. GAME.

Georgia-LSU would've been an amazing SECCG.

Tenn beating florida last year... the gators was shredding them. Tenn came back!! Duck does pull the truck and i would say also, ohio state beating Miami in the title...on a very bad call. Miami hasnt been the same since.

1996 & 1997 Iron Bowls. If the winners for those two years were switched, LSU would've gone to Atlanta both times.

Pitt beating WVU in 2007 made up for it though
