I know some SEC fan bases have been there recently. Is it truly the shittiest place to watch a game ever? I hear this a lot from Auburn fans. One of the gameday guys just called it a great football town with a great fan base.

It is a great football town that is shitty for the visitors. LSU fans are tame in comparison.

I know that you should never turn off the heaters to motivate your team when it gets cold there.

I have been to games there three times (twice to see Penn State and once to see LSU). Their mascot is called a Mountaineer and it is quite possibly the one mascot in the country that is an accurate description of a fanbase.

With Coach Saban growing up a few miles from that campus, I know why he and the old lady think Tuscaloosa is heaven

For your original question, it was an ok place to watch a game IMHO. Nothing truly special and nothing really bad

I didn't go when LSU went in 2012. But I recall the fans on the boards wanting the fans to be very hospitable to the visiting SEC team because they were hoping for an invite to the league.

Did y'all catch the penny state logo on top of the gameday stage? What the hell is that about.

Baton Rouge: "Where opponents' dreams come to die"

Morgantown: "Where your college and vocational dreams come to die."

It truly Is a collection- pool of losers. One of the Tigers fans got beaten into critical condition, there. It was in the paper.

That's worse than the Alabama fanbase. They only have tea bagging, and tree killing.

I've never been, but it's one place I really want to go for a game one weekend. It just seems so, different.

The women aren't up to what you would see from an SEC school but the facilities are top notch thanks in part to the Milan Puskar endowment.

Believe it or not it's a class #3 felony now if you get caught burning a couch and the local paper has sponsored a be friendly to visitors crusade going into its seventh year.

Auburn blocked their inclusion into the SEC after CS brought them up for a vote and gave us Missouri instead.

Thanks Aubie....

Believe me, you don't want that trash coming to your stadium or vice versa.

Auburn did good.

When you have to levy a felony charge or a "be nice to visitors" campaign.....that says it all right there.

Look, us LSU fans and USC/UF/Georgia fans are annoying
Tennessee fans are obnoxious when they are good
Bama fans are borderline maniacal
Ole miss fans ......never mind
But physical harm, arson and tolerability campaigns explain who wvu fans are, collectively......a bunch of losers that the acc and the sec did NOT want.

Their fans are like Florida fans if they were all arsonists from New Jersey.

West Virginia is the trendy place for Jersey kids who couldn't get in to Rutgers and lacked the grades for the Ivy League.

I had a good experience there for the LSU game in 2011. Obviously I wouldn't want to spend more than a weekend there but for an LSU fan it was definatly interesting setting for a game especially this time of year. Very passionate fan base that we didn't have any trouble with before or after the game of course we were with a friend from LA whose wife was in grad school up there so he knew his way around.

Seems like an inordinate proportions of exceptionally poor sports when they lose there. Same proportion of chemically dependant folks as well which is probably linked together. (Have worked in the area) Economically depressed area as well. Beware, especially if your team defeats them.

nice little stadium that sells beer....

80% of the fanbase are the nicest folks you'd ever want to meet...the other 20% make harvey updike look civilized

within a mile of the stadium, it was easier to buy a .50 caliber browning machine gun than a beer

morgantown itself is a crap city...

I was working in WV in 2011 around the game. They were ok before the game but after was totally different. Complete fricking assholes after a loss. Apparently assholes after a win too according to the recent riots

We were there for the 2011 LSU game. We had a WVU fan and come up and kick boxed us and told us they were going to F-in kill us. This was before the game. You have to walk through their tail gating to get in the stadium. Then you have to walk back out through it. After the game a LSU fan was pulled out of his car and beat up in front of his wife. I will never go back. They also had a tram rail service to get close to the stadium that their wonderful fans decided to tell us to get on the wrong tram. Glad we won, but their fans are ridiculous.
