Oh well, at least it will give the 12 or so Ranters who pay attention to basketball season something else to have fun with.
Hi ho, Kermit the Mizzou coach here

True, I probably should have written "grayed" or something.

I know most of y'all aren't happy with the hire, but Coach Anderson seems personable/likable. Don't know if that translates into wins. Hard to say it isn't a good fit as well.

Since I'm one of the few Ags that actually cares about college hoops, I hope it doesn't work out. Perhaps you could steal BK from us? Please.

I am supportive of him as a coach and there is potential there, he clearly knows his Xs and Os and is a nice link back to our program. Aside from where he went after being a long time assistant to our old coach, the reasons and fit are not that different from why Arky wanted Mike Anderson back (although his Arky honeymoon may be over depending who you ask down there).

Key thing will be gettng some good recruiters on his staff on a national level. If he does that we will be fine, if he doesn't, our only hope is to be Bo Ryan Wisconsin Part 2. But if he can put some good recruiters on staff I think he has some stuff to sell. Our old coach Norm Stewart ran the triangle offense that Tex Winter designed and that the Bulls and Lakers won 11 NBA titles under for Phil Jackson. If Kim Anderson implements the same, I would use that as a selling point to every kid we recruit. "Hey kid, remember growing up watching Kobe Bryant? Ever want to be him? Come here and run the same offense that Kobe and Michael Jordan won all their NBA titles with." Even if its only half true, it sure sounds good and gets you by the whole "who is this D2 coach" thing.

There's no doubt about the recruiting. X's and O's will get you some wins but, with the current nature of college basketball, talent wins out.

I've always assumed (perhaps wrongly) that Mizzou students, alums, and fans really supported their basketball program. It's a shame it hasn't turned into more on-the-court success. Perhaps Anderson is the one to bring that to y'all.

I think he will surprise some people. I can not comment on his recruiting, because I have not seen what he can do at Mizzou.
