Mizzou must lower academic requirements and expectations to compete in the SEC or risk becoming the annual bottom dweller.

Most SEC schools thrive in college football because they have extremely low academic expectations for their student athletes. These schools can recruit thugs year in and year out who have no life goals other than reaching the NFL, and at the same time, these schools can save face in light of publicly known poor academic standards.

Mizzou must lower their high academic expectations or market themselves to a small contingent of intelligent and extremely athletic student athletes. Either do as the Romans do, or immediately go all in with our resources to become the school destination of choice for scholarly students who happen to be exceptional athletes.

Vandy proves that a school can accomplish this in the SEC.

However, Mizzou isn't willing to settle for an 8 - 9 win season as a measure of success when only a few years ago we were an 11 - 12 win team. 10 wins indicated a step back a few years ago. We didn't make the move to the SEC to be losers. We actually have lofty goals other than the money to be made in the SEC.

Therefore, that leaves one avenue for success. We must dumb down our school in order to compete for the extremely athletic thugs if we plan to have sustaining success in the SEC.

WE MUST BECOME MORE RETARDED TO PROGRESS. Imagine that!

Uh, Florida has some of the most strict academic requirements in the SEC, and its athletic programs are top notch.

(Location doesn't hurt either.)

MS2 being a Mizzou student shoots holes in your troll attempt. Sorry.

Vandy has not really proven much.

Wait 5 years and lets see what they have done.

Stopped reading here. Your academics are light years behind Texas A&M's... so....

I appreciate your enthusiasm; I really do.

All public schools in the SEC have the exact same admission standards for athletes. So the effort in the troll was really good, but there's nothing upon which any reasonably intelligent person can get snagged---making the OP kinda sucky.

You are bad at sports because you're in Missouri. It's not that complicated.

I wasn't aware the academic requirements for a school had anything to do with football recruiting.

Meanwhile, the Southeastern Conference's football dominance might extend to the classroom, too, at least as measured by the GSR. Of teams currently in the coaches poll, the SEC had five of the top 13 when ordered by GSR. Football heavyweights LSU (No 6, 77% GSR), Alabama (No. 7, 75%) and Florida (No. 8, 75%) led the way for the SEC. Those teams are all in the top six of the coaches poll.

fwiw....Missouri isn't in the top 25. so not only do your players suck at football...they apparently can't graduate as well

This is incorrect. I can't speak for all the schools but UGA has turned away a few kids because of this and they have enrolled at other SEC schools.
