Mizzou is actually doing it right schedule wise

Last year they played @ Toledo and this year @ Arkansas State. Compare that to what Arkansas did this in year paying Toledo $1M to come to Arkansas. If you can't beat Toledo on the road, then you shouldn't be paying them $1M to come play at your place. If you can't beat a team like that on the road, then your team was never going to amount to anything anyway so don't worry about it.

Scheduling a road game like that before you get into conference road games is a nice warm up/practice for your team for future road games. It would be nice to have a game like that under your belt before opening up your road schedule at a 80k+ stadium.

There are some people who might not know that you paid Toledo 1 million dollars to do that to you.
You shouldn't tell anyone else.
