Looking at the roster, Missouri has 8 players from Florida listed. With it being such a fertile ground for college players, I would have expected something more like 19.

I didnt. I put the state of Tennessee in the title.
It was simply an observation that I thought was interesting because nobody really talked about Tennessee being a place that we would recruit heavily when we came in. The talk was mostly about trying to get into GA and FL. Pinkel did it quite a bit. We'll see what Odom does.

I can see why that is such a big deal for Missouri fans. Three players from Tennessee matches the number of blue chip players from the entire state of Missouri in the '17 class. When you get players from a state with a superior talent pool, you have higher expectations.
All 50 states ranked by blue chip player production
Three is a pretty low number. Over the last 5 classes, Missouri has only had 12 blue chip players in state. Some of these states put out more blue chip players than one might expect. In one year, Ohio had 19 blue chip players...that same year, Michigan only had 8. For rivals, you would have thought the numbers might have been closer...but they weren't 19-8.
