Any info on WR Darius White? He was supposed to be a major factor when he started at Texas. I actually went to High School with him in Fort Worth. Kind of sad he only had 519 receiving yards at both Mizzou and Texas. After he transferred from Texas no one really followed him anymore.

Id like to hear about any of Mizzou's WRs. Is it true your leading returning receiver only had 5 catches?

That's not a troll whoever down voted, I legitimately want to know what is your expectations of your WRs if that is true?

It's true!
As for White, he was just overrated. Did not have the speed or athleticism (or hands really) to be a star. To his credit though, he wasn't a malcontent. He played a role and had a decent season as outer #3 WR.

WR position will be a huge question mark going into the season. Couple of good recruits in Nate Brown (SO) and J'Mon Moore (SO) and then Wesley Leftwich (SR).
Its one of the bigger question marks going into the seaosn no question. The younger guys have the talent but we will have to see how that plays out as the season move forward.
White just never separated himself from the established group. Seemed to have the tools and ability just mental issues got in his way at times.

That seemed to be the same issue at Texas. Is he still eligible for one more year? I believe he sat out the 2012 season correct? It's just crazy because everyone back home thought he was going to be a break out star.

His biggest enemies were the mental things. Route running, dropping balls, missing blocking assignments.
Never heard bad things about work ethic etc. just couldnt put it all together. He was given every opportunity here especially after DGB turned tPOS.

He's a SR. Hasn't caught on with an NFL team yet.
As for our WR next year, yeah it's a huge question mark. Moore and Brown are very talented. They CAN be difference makers, but they didn't do much with their chances last year. Leftwich is our line SR and he has incredible speed, but again he's done nothing of note in 3 years. We moved Ray Wingo to WR and he was very impressive in camp and in our spring game. He's the fastest guy on the team and can be a true game breaker. He's small though.
The good thing is. It's just WR. If there is a spot you can afford to be inexperienced at, besides RB, it's WR. It's not like we are replacing our entire OL or secondary.

The staff didn't really give many guys a chance last year. They ran with Sasser/Hunt/White pretty much every every opportunity.
I'm not as sold on Moore as others. This will be his 3rd year after a redshirt year and I expected him to contribute more last year. Having said that, maybe that's not fair to expect of a redshirt freshman. Brown is talented and is the one with the 5 catches as a true freshman.
After that, it's a crap shoot. Brought in a half dozen recruits or so. I'm sure 2 or more will play. One is 6' 7" and very athletic but raw. Was primarily a basketball player until his senior year. Think UGA even offered in hoops. But a redshirt year would probably do him good. A more seasoned WR may get a chance on the outside. Also have 2 smaller guys who will get a chance in the slot in addition to Wingo moving from DB.

This is the most curious thing to me to see how it plays out. It has a similar feel to the Murphy in the slot thoughts last year.

The only difference I see is that Murphy would/could/did contribute at RB. Wingo isn't going to contribute much, if anything, in the defensive backfield.

I guess I should have clarified, just thinking the dynamic he can bring to the slot position athletically.

Got ya. Yeah, would agree with that. Though, I gotta say, I like what I see on tape with the 2 incoming freshmen too. I think between the 3, they'll definitely find 1 that contributes in a major way.

So who are ya'll returning at RB? Wingo is the one name I remembered.
Where can I find info on your team, who Mizzou returns all around, and where the expectations come from?

The Wingo RB you're thinking of went to Arky. This is his younger brother and came in on the defensive side but has flipped to WR.
RB returns our leading RB, Hansbrough from last year. GP has done what he's always done in the past. He likes to run 3 RB's. 2 that share about equally and a 3rd, younger one to get him ready to take on an equal load the following year. Witter did that last year as a true freshman and I expect him to get his share of carries. The wild card at RB is 4* JUCO Chase Abbington who is bigger yet doesn't lose any of that speed, something not typical of a Mizzou back.

Right, Steward getting hurt meant we needed Murphy at RB. He would have played a lot more slot had that not happened. Wingo is a WR now. If I'm betting he's starting in the slot by the end of fall camp and Brown is back outside battling with Leftwich.

Which isnt a bad thing IMO.

You should expand your recruiting into DFW. Especially after Darius White. Honestly he was talk of the town my senior year in high school. And Fort Worth alone is filled with plenty of talents at WR. Google Arlington Heights.
