Trust me I've talked my fair share of trash talk to UF, AU, and GT fans.

There must be some Mizzou posters that can talk about your actual team/program. Seriously.

Do you expect Odom to be as good or a better coach than Pinkel?

Is your QB a pocket passer or dual threat?

How do you expect your defense to be this year versus last year?

What is the capacity of your stadium?

Who are your best skilled players, RBs? WRs?

These are all questions I have and, admittedly, an experiment to find decent Mizzou posters.

TIA

Odom ought to be a bit better. Pinkel was guilty of not having every position be up for grabs each year, and sticking with "his guys". Then even it would become painfully obvious that the backup was better, he still wouldn't change. His motto was "We Do What We Do".

Odom has already shown to be much more innovative, bringing in Heupel and JJ Finley from Baylor to revamp the offense, and getting TCU's D-Coordinator. He also has let every position up for grabs, and may not even release a depth chart before the WVU game. Every kid has a shot, shown by the emergence of the walkon Jordan Harold at DE, who's been able shine on one of the best DL's in the country.

Defense should be the same high quality we've come to expect. We lost only 2 impact players, 1 to the NFL and 1 to dismissal. But from what we've been hearing, this year's crew should be quite a bit faster, and the DL is said to be much tougher on stopping the run.

The team will use a 2 QB system, splitting the duties based on package. Pro-style passer Drew Lock everyone knows, and is said to be making a big step in the awareness/mental part of the game under Heupel (he already had the physical tools). The other QB Marvin Zanders is a legit 4.4 40 guy, who came in being able to play either QB or WR, Florida tried to steal him late, but he stood pat. He would've originally been an afterthought, however he's apparently jumped through the roof in his progression as a passer over the offseason. It will definitely be interesting to watch.

At RB the team has completely changed it's identity, gone are the days of the little scat backs. Starting we have OU graduate transfer and former All American Alex Ross who stands 6-1 220. The next is 4* freshman Damarea "Damage" Crockett who stands 5-11 220. Splitting 3rd down duties will be lasdt year's starter Ish Witter and 4* JUCO transfer Nate Strong.

At WR, only 1 guy who was on the 2 deep last year will make an appearance again, in J'Mon Moore. Starting in the slot will be Alabama graduate transfer Chris Black. Outside of that will be a rotation of guys including a guy they call "K9" Demetrious Mason who has been clocked in the mid 4.3's on the 40, and Justin Smith who stands 6'7" and has incredible range/hands.

Other than that, the big shift expected is a lot more use of the TE's and H-Backs. 3 year starter Sean Culkin is starting to get some recognition as a really good pro-style TE. He had been ragged on a bit for the past couple years, because he isn't the crazy hybrid receiving threat that Coffman, Rucker, and Egnew had been before him, but he blocks better than any of those guys, who all saw time in the NFL.

TLDR: The defense will be pretty much the same, and the offense will look a bit different, but will be better.

I think CGP was the anti-CMR. He was able to do more with less v. Richt.
Coaching is huge.

Pinkel had all conference DE's and Dlinemen, some were not highly regarded at all as recruits and then some where. It was enough to win the weaker divisions he coached in, and while that is an accomplishment, it's not that great of an accomplishment in the SEC.

That should help I'd think ^^^ damn. Ouch.

Also, that was the exact type of well thought-out answer I'm looking for, thanks. What's TLDR?

So when we talk about Mizzou football We get the safe spaces SJW nonense from the penut gallery.

I always find it funny when a regular gets rustled up enough to dust off an alter. Rhodedawg....

I get it. Thats all well and good, but its not the "frick you, gtfo of our conference" shite we get daily.

It is what it is, but again its not hard to figure out why Mizzou fans are the way they are on this board.

As far as Im concerned, frick the SEC. Send the check though...

I'm not sure if you're talking about me but I do see that other thread and why it's hard to talk football over here.

Eta. Apparently a UF alter

I'm not a Mizzou fan, but I will say that I think Missouri made a home run hire with Barry Odom. The dude is a damn good coach. Their defense is going to be nasty good this season. It may take a year or two for him to learn the ropes of being a head coach, but I have nothing but respect for that guy. Does shite the right way and has done nothing but excel at every stop he's been at. I have no doubts that he will turn Missouri into a legit contender in short order.

That said, Missouri is going to struggle a bit this season, and Arkansas is going to wax that arse again at the end of the year.

Taking BS is what ruined him.

Actually my friend is a Mizzou grad. He told me that CGP didn't take shite. That's where I got that impression.

Well Mizzou fans if you think it is bad now. Wait until you actually win an SEC Championship. The better your team is in this conference the more the other teams' fans talk shite. I just can't help laughing at how everybody was saying aTm belonged but Mizzou didn't belong. The next thing I knew Mizzou was in Atlanta and what's the highest aTm team might have placed third in their division?

I think it was the right choice, ultimately though he has the task of getting the fan base back where we need to after the fiasco last year. There is a part of the fan base that doesn't want to do with anything until they win. Under Pinkel, we never really had that stigma, but he to had to right the ship early on. Odom is in a much better state of program than when Pinkel took over though. I think our recruiting efforts with this coaching staff will excel that of Pinkel, eventually. On the field performance will land us some highly touted guys out of the KC and STL area this year.

I think Arky will finish 3rd in the West. Also "Arkansas is going to wax that arse", I do remember that being said before the last time you played at Faurot. What happened then...

When Pinkel first got here he was one hard motherfricker. Very strict and about as far from a players coach as you can get. Damn near got him fired too. He softened a bit, and thats when he had his most success.

Last year though, I think he just kind of gave up. He wasnt in it anymore, and at this level you simply cant have any type of let down or you'll get eaten alive. Which he did.

Great coach, and did well here, but it was time for him to move on. Glad he didnt hang around a couple extra years past his time like alot of coaches do.

Pinkel softened up and become more connected with players after Aaron O'Neal. It was a sad time and really brought the team together. This tragic event brought the "Family" aspect that was needed to take a step forward.

If aTm had been placed in the East and Mizz in the West what do you think Mizz still wins two division titles?

ETA: Do you think aTm wins the East twice?

I'll stand by my statement that CGP did more with less esp compared to CMR. That's how y'all made it to Atlanta imo.

If Urban Meyer didn't cover up for murderers and thugs, would Florida have won a national championship with Tebow?
