I live in Blue Springs, and every where I've been, and the people I know are all pretty serious about Mizzou football (regardless of strength of team)
Occasionally, I'll run into a K-State fan, but they're all pretty much hardcore Mizzou football fans around here.

It's the same in the county in St. Louis. Once you get outside of 270, it's pretty solid Mizzou country.

Yep, that's what I was saying in my last post. It all just depends where you are in the metro. The Missouri side is pretty solid Mizzou.

There is a whole section devoted to Mizzou football this weekend in the STL Post Dispatch called Barry Ball. Didn't read because don't care for half the writers but there used to not even be coverage like that in STL.

Just out of curiosity, if you polled the STL population asking them who their favorite sports team was regardless of which sport it was, how would results look?

In STL, your answer would probably be like 90% Cards if not higher. The problem with posing the question that way is that it makes it sound like it's to the exclusion of all other sports/teams. Forget college sports for a second, someone may answer Cards to that but also fully support the Blues or Rams when they were here.

If you asked them what teams do you follow/support, Cards would still have the most but Mizzou would make the top 3, with well over half of the metro area supporting/following Mizzou.

I won't put percentages on it but I know plenty who have season tickets to the Cards and Mizzou. I know plenty who have Cards season tickets but donate significantly to Mizzou.

It was actually really good. Not much you don't know already, but worth the read

CSB - a guy about 4 houses down flies his Mizzou flag for the main intent of keeping Jayhawk fans from moving on our street.
I fly my Razorback flag, and we have talked football for endless hours. One thing I'll say for him is he knows his football, and he can brew a superb saison with a high ABV. These Misouri boys know beer

East side of KC is strong Mizzou or more impassioned. Football season you see a bunch of car flags and Tiger tails. St Louis is strong Mizzou, more so I think when we are winning. The smaller towns throughout the state I think are more passionate about Mizzou, because it's the state school. As was said earlier, college sports in both cities are 3rd behind the NFL and MLB. Unlike in Arky or Miss where there isn't as much Professional competition for attention.
