Just wanted to take a pulse and see how you guys are feeling about playing Purdue. While its true they only won 3 games last year, they hired a Bobby Petrino disciple as their head coach and he's revamped the offense. They don't have anyone on defense but they gave Louisville quite a scare in week one.

This one should be fun to watch.

BOILER UP!

Though no one ... and, I mean, no one ... can snatch defeat from the jaws of victory like Purdon't.

I watch a lot of Purdue games because a great many of my in-laws are grads.

Buddy of mine played tight end for them in the late 90s. Blew out his knee before his first season and never played again but I always hear about Purdue football from him.

I think Jeff Brohm may have them on the right track. He did wonders with Western Kentuckys football program.

I think we win.

Mizzou has the talent, it's really about taking care of the ball and actually making smart decisions now.

Wouldn't hurt if we actually caught a pass.

It's a 50/50 game at this point. Mizzou should win but then we are Mizzou.

Problem is we don't take care of the ball. I think we can win. But I have no idea if we will win.

Purdue offense is legit. I see the Boilermakers running Mizzou defense down in the ground. With a mother and father grads of Purdue, I have watched the 2 Boiler games. Brohm has improve them dramatically, he is a damn good coach.

If Mizzou has half the drops they had last weekend, they'll win

Our "Special" teams will cost us the game. We are literally considering becoming a 4 down offense when we get into the other side of the 50. This is not a joke, we are a BCS team and have no kicker. Our kicker was supposed to kick away from freaking Samuel and aim towards the left corner the entire game, he was told that if he kicked it out of bounds, it was fine....and what did that dude do? HE lined it right to him and it broke our teams glass jaw and the game was over with us leading 10-7. Every fan in that stadium 100% new it was over at that point.

Our secondary doesn't have the speed to cover a 47 year old TE. So they all give the WR's 10 yard cushions.

Our DTs are our only quality position group. When they have energy they will wreck your face in the first half (see the SC game). But, when they get winded come the second half we get exploited. Our DE's are hot garbage to average at best. D-Line Zou is dead in regards to DE's to the NFL. Therefore we have to blitz to get pressure and that leaves our aforementioned trash secondary exposed.

Drew Lock murders below average and almost average defenses. He will slaughter your first born child from the pocket...but if you make him move from the pocket and scheme away his first read he will poop down his pants every single time. On running plays for the read he will hand it off 95% of the time. SC was begging him to take a free 10 yards every single time and he refused.

All this to say, we will lose this game. The fanbase has 50% turned their attention to basketball season already just like they used to in the 80's-90's. If we lose this game we will be 90% focused on basketball and Odom's seat is going to get real hot.

A Big 10 board has a 'Stupid Upset Pick' weekly contest. The spread is used for accumulating points. Purdue is probably my pick this week.

Top 3 after Week Two:

Grillrat 18.5 (2)
ALA2262 16.5
MichiFan87 16.5

Grillrat picked California in Week 1 and Oklahoma in Week 2. MichiFan87 and I picked UTSA in Week 2.

Purdue apparently has two Co-Defensive coordinators. Nick Holt- Linebackers and Anthony Poindexter - secondary.

Ignore my previous reply. I assumed you meant Purdue since they had a new coaching staff. I had not heard about the Missouri Demontie Cross situation. Thats a sticky wicket.

Boilers look night and day better from Hazell's mess. Still, Mizzou has more talent, especially at the skill positions. The Tigers pull away late, and likely cover.
