They'll probably go after Vitello and we'll have to replace our pitching and hitting coach in the same year lol

Now if only Kim Anderson could retire too...

Next up, Mitch Gaspard

How attractive is the Mizzou job? I really dunno.
It doesn't seem like they have the fanbase or recruiting base of other SEC schools but both the Cards and Royals have strong followings so maybe it's got huge potential.

They have a recruiting base. Jamieson seemed content to cut half of it off by only targeting St Louis though.
KC metro, STL metro have a ton of talent. Vitello was able to get a lot of it to TCU and Arkansas.
Fan base will be a little more difficult to build up.

If true, I'm not sure it even makes the local news. It's sad. Softball receives decent coverage, baseball not so much.

Kentucky made his arse quit in Lexington this past weekend apparently

Mitch Gaspard's dream job. He gone.

If Bama gets rid of Gaspard, I know there is a plucky young coach at the University of North Florida just itching to get back into big time baseball. That should be your guy!

Jamieson deserves a ton of credit for rebuilding that program. I wished Evan would not have gone into administration or he would be perfect for that job.

Very accurate. We just have no care for college baseball. Missouri State is a bigger baseball brand than Mizzou.

Near impossible. Cardinals, Royals, Cardinals AA in springfield. Not to mention the other nearby minor league teams for both pro clubs in Omaha, Wichita, Memphis, and NW Arkansas. (All either AA, or AAA)
All better baseball nearby.
We like baseball well enough...just not college baseball.

yeah I don't follow them closely. I know you live in Mizzou so you probably have as good a pulse as anyone
I just can't remember too many regional teams that were powers. Wichita State in the 80s/90s. Nebraska under Van Horn. But the Kansas schools have pretty much always sucked and it's not because another regional school is sucking up all the oxygen.
So in my mind it just doesn't seem you can be elite there. But part of that probably is having a decent not great coach for so long I have that as my set expectations for them.

Please God let it be true. Our administration has refused to cut bait with him for the last 5 years.
