The MSU delusion is quickly becoming more and more apparent on here.

Their best win in 2014 was by 7 points over Arkansas at home. They vaulted to #1 based on early season wins over top 10 teams (LSU, aTm, and Auburn)...who each finished with an 8-5 record. They lost to the three best teams on their schedule (Bama, Ole Miss, and GT) by an average of two scores per game. They have 8 starters returning.

Any prediction of finishing worse than 3rd in the west is met with incredulity on the part of MSU posters, but the only real responses are "Dak" and "Our best players came in towards the end of games, so losing starters is really a positive for us".

What do unbiased people think? If we ran a Monte Carlo simulation, what do you think their average finish in the West would be? I say between 5 and 6.

Likely a 6 or 7 win team in 2015 because of the SEC West. They'll destroy their bowl opponent and finish 7-6 or 8-5.

Who cares? It's not like their opinions will affect the outcome. State will lose a lot of games this year.

Why in the hell would a Georgia fan even care?

They had a once in a lifetime season last year. They are still riding that feeling.

When they have a so-so season this year following by both Dak and Merlin leaving it is going to suck for them, so let them have hope today.

Don't kick the puppy.

No. It was their domination of then number 2 Auburn. One of the Mississippi schools is finishing last in the west this year.

Why would I post a legitimate question about an SEC team to an SEC board and ask for the opinion of others?

You're confusing "care" with "be genuinely curious".

I see you are nervous about MSU meeting you in the SEC championship game already.

Your opinion is already formed. Your first sentence proves that. You just wanted to make a pile on State thread which tells me you a very unoriginal.

There is my opinion.

Congratulations - you can identify opinions. Read a little farther and see where I ask for others' opinions.

Brings up a good point - saying a 5th place finish is not damning them in any way. I'm not saying they will be like Vanderbilt or anything. With all the firepower in the West, it's just hard for me to see more than 2 or 3 division wins.

They are returning the best QB in the league, which is the most important position on the field. Their starters only played roughly 60% of the snaps defensively so the experience dropoff is greatly exaggerated. Also their best win was over LSU, which was a skull-dragging until LSU got some late TDs against the 3rd string

This is coming from an Ole Miss fan.

Is this due to the system? Or lack of a talent gap between 1st and 2nd string at certain positions?

Combination of both. If their OL is competent I figure they finish 9-3. DL depth is also a concern. Secondary may be bad but it already was so no drop off.

A lot of people blamed Juicy Geoff but Mullen agreed with the 1a/1b because he knew it would benefit them. Don't be surprised if Diaz does it too.
