Turns out this is wrong. He was 7th in tackles. He did not lead your team in tackles.

You should send this to ESPN for their game day use. First rate and I would read it again.

I know, call up old What's his name? Hint - your coach. maybe at 3:15 in the morning when he has time to talk to you at length and tell him these solid O and D evaluation facts. How you could have been so observant I can't imagine.

Do they have a statue of you outside of the Hedges area? WARNING - If they do, I can imaging how much our designated pisser will want to piss on you during the pre game activities. IT could happen. We have some pretty good pissers on our squad and I can't see who yo have identified in that skill set position.

MSU 28 - GA 13.

Plus we will piss on your shrubs, and Mr. Rig, if we can find him amongst all of the GA game attendees.

I'm good. I think it's funny that State fans gets everybody fired up and watch game tape.

I think you underestimate how well MSU has done so far.

OK

quote:

Offensive line - only allowed one sack on the year.

Credit to Fitz, not the line. LSU had several sacks on Fitz that he was able to throw out of. And draw fouls to boot.

LSU DL was all up in Fitz's shite the whole first half, before they gave up.

quote:

Running game - Fitzgerald is averaging 7.7 yards and Williams is averaging 7 yard per carry. They are averaging 297.7 yards per game.

You'll note in the Strengths section of my OP I specifically call out both Fitz and Williams as their best rushers with great vision. Did you not read the whole OP?

quote:

Defense - Has only allowed 7 points in the second half in their 3 games. Also, their first team defense has only allowed one touchdown so far this season.

That's a great stat. It's about to be obliterated by playing a real offense. But that's just like my opinion man.

I wouldn't look at this game and think MSU will be an easy win. LSU fans did and you see what happened.

LSU is a bad team. Despite being a bad team, they had multiple opportunities to beat State. Multiple opportunities to come back. Etling sucked and when he actually did put a ball on a receiver, the receiver sucked. Penalties, etc.

I like your qb situation. It's a win win situation for State. It's either a freshman making his first conference start or a guy that has been sidelined by injury. State's D is about to eat.

Simmons was in the backfield all night without blitzing

I love when fans say this. "He lives in the backfield".

On a pass play (or play action) the offensive line backpedals to form a pocket.

All of the defensive linemen "live in the backfield."

Simmons only got loose twice vs LSU.

Which, is awesome... good for him. He is a great player.

I have no doubt he'll get some tackles against UGA, maybe even a sack.

Here's what you don't understand...

Miss State has one Simmons.

Georgia has four Simmons'.

But our defenses don't play against each other, our defenses play each other's offense.

If you want to do a breakdown of Georgia's tape vs Notre Dame, I would love to read it. I really would.

But this is a breakdown of what I saw on my DVR of State vs LSU.

Running up to stuff the run in a stacked box on LSU, sure. But in pass coverage, your whole secondary looked lost. This is probably Grantham's fault, not necessarily the players. As far as him leading the team in tackles,..... when your safety leads the team in tackles, that's a scathing indictment of how shitty your DL and linebackers are. Just so you know

I'd normally agree. But Grantham's defenses are great when they have a run stuffing safety. We had Shawn Williams. Louisville had one too.

The downside for Grantham is that a team that can throw down field neutralizes all of the benefits of his run defense (bad offenses tore UGA up with big, fast, talented WRs who could stretch the field). If Wims, Godwin, Ridley, and Nauta can force the safeties attention, Miss St will lose one of their keys to run defense and they will be shocked at what Chubb/Michel can do.

As for the Kirby Smart jokes... he already knows this from the 2012 SECCG. Freshman Amari Cooper ran go routes all night.

So, just to address your analysis...

- Our OL put on a clinic in pulling last week.
- RT is young, will improve. But then again, you don't have Arden Key coming off that end so he's probably fine.
- We don't get consistent pass rush with a 3 man front, you don't say? Starting DL talent is as good as anyone's. Starting 2 former 4*s and a 5* there. Simmons is beastly.
- LT is the best in the conference, so maybe better than decent.

Miss State Weaknesses and Strengths
I've broken down the film of the LSU game.

Weaknesses:

1. Your right tackle sucks. He wouldn't start on any other team in the league. You obviously have a depth problem. He continued getting owned but never subbed out meaningful snaps.

2. Your defensive line is unable to get pressure without blitzing. Eventually Grantham will get this sorted out for you, but you need bigger better players to do this. I don't know if Grantham can get this done at State.

3. Neither of your guards can pull. All pulling is by your Center and Left Tackle. Knowing this, it is much easier to defend.

4. Your corners and safeties are not good. Etling's passes were thrown behind his receivers and your secondary had more plays on the ball than the LSU receivers, and they still couldn't get a pick. And the Etling balls that actually did hit his receivers were mostly dropped, despite a total lack of defense; it's not like the State defenders were breaking up the passes. LSU was simply not completing them.

5: Fitz is not a good passer. He made about 3 good passes. The rest were high school level passes. LSU was playing your receivers too soft, too much cushion. Fitz threw two interceptions that LSU was too inept to realize.

Strengths:

1. Your Center is a badass. He will be an NFL starter.

2. Your Left Tackle is decent.

3. Fitz has good vision on the read option, and obviously has the legs to take advantage of whatever the defense gives him.

4. Grantham, for all the shite UGA fans give him, knows how to confuse QB's with different zone schemes and confusing blitz packages. This can hide some of your DL weaknesses. This all assumes these packages aren't too complicated for your players to fully understand, which he has struggled with at Louisville and UGA... some say his scheme is better suited for NFL players.

5. Your FG kicker made all his kicks, and your kickoff kicker (same guy?) did a mostly good job of forcing touchbacks.

6. Your running back Williams has the best vision of all your RB's.

Well damn, I'll just have to re-up my Gene47 subscription next year. I'm gonna make copies of this and fold one up to keep in my pocket.

Your Center did. He is wonderful.

We have Lorenzo Carter who is better than Arden Key. And unlike LSU, we aren't a one-trick pony on pass rush. Davin Bellamy will be coming on the other side. He'll be starting in the NFL next year. And Trent Thompson up the middle. He'll be starting in the NFL next year.

No pass rush with four rushers. They were all easily contained by LSU, the vast majority of the time.

Maybe. In fairness, I listed him as one of your strengths, so I'm not sure why you decided to "call me out" on this.
