How does it feel to see a QB from MSU starting an NFL regular season game for the first time in your life?

I look forward to seeing Dak play in the NFL.. Just wish he would get traded away from the Cowgirls

Dak vs Eli week 1 is an epic matchup. Must say, I never thought I'd see a Mississippi State QB battle against a Manning.

The Cowboys are going to destroy the Giants too as much as I hate to say it. The Giants don't have a single o lineman who could start on another NFL team.

Who was the last Msu QB to start in the NFL? I'm in my 30's and have never seen one in my lifetime

I'm conflicted about who I want to win. I am a Giants fan but in my heart I kind of want Dak to win. Partially because he deserves it, and partially because he is on my fantasy team and I would like him to do well to use him as trade bait

Probably Joe Reed 1979 Detroit Lions. NFL career 8 seasons.

State QB Don Smith played in the NFL 1988-90 but never took a snap at QB. Played running back and kick returner. So he is the last MSU QB to start in the NFL but not at QB

The center and left side of the OL were first round draft picks in 2013 and 2015 and a second round pick in 2014. The other two guys have 165 starts between them.

Last year they were young, but they came together better by the end of the season. The OL will be significantly improved this year.

The truth is, Msu always had trouble recruiting QB's. We lived off of defense and running the ball. That made it hard to get QB's and WR's.

We couldn't get one without the other. Who wanted to sign as a QB without great receivers and vise-versa. The perception was very real. Now a new generation is growing up with a different mindset. I don't think we'll have as hard a time signing both now.

It's an ideal situation for Dak, if there is such a thing as an nfl rookie qb. Good running game, great o line and good receiver and TE. I think he should do ok, but he will certainly have some bumps along the way, as any rookie Qb would. I hope Dak does well, but I hope the cowboys lose every game. Americas team my arse.

Needs ago of D though. Horrible D could put too much pressure to score on him.

He actually scored a TD for Buffalo in Super Bowl XXV.

LSU waited until the last moment to offer Dak. Had that offer come sooner no way we would be having this discussion.

That's true. If he had gone to lsu, no way we would be talking about him being an nfl qb
