You guys are an intriguing bunch this year. Solid QB but I dont know much else about your team. How are your units shaping up? How are your lines? Skill players?

MSU is under the radar. Which a lot of times means a surprise may be in store.

This thread is just secretly hoping that they can beat Georgia right?

Good Qb but still needs to prove he can sling it accurately. Lots of talent at runningback. Some pretty good TEs. Wr is thin and probably the weakest position on offense. O-Line should be average.
Defense should be improved from last year. Lots of talent in the front 7. The secondary should be ok but it depends on who plays most. The younger guys Peters and Dantlzer and better than the two seniors at corner but Mullen likes to play his seniors so we'll see. Same with safety.

Wow...in your head that much? Ive only had one cup of coffee so far today and Im not ready to think quite that deep.

Plus Im not worried about that game in particular. If Vandy can roll into Sanford and win im almost certain MSU sure can. So UGA being the basis of my inquiry to MSU fans would be ridiculous.

Thanks! Sounds like there are some holes and question marks at some key areas. Do you think this is a 6-7 win team or perhaps 8-9?

7-8 wins would be the general expectation I think. The team is definitely capable of 9 but the West isn't going to give away any free wins.

6-7 win team. MSU doesn't have enough skill on the perimeter to keep defenses from stacking against the run. Best WR is 5'9" and no deep threat

I think we beat Georgia this year and I'm typically one of the more pessimistic MSU fans. Donald is a very good receiver and has proved that. I think couch will emerge as a big time weapon for Fitz in the passing game. Standing 6'5" and weighing 230, he presents a large target. I think our qb/rb combo will be very potent in SEC play as well. Center and left side of the O line should be very stout. Defense is more a function of schematics and play calling. The talent is there to be a top 5 SEC defense in my opinion. As far as special teams go, If the game comes down to a field goal, we lose.

TE position will emerge as a pass threat this year. Because they have the ability to be mismatches and just out of necessity. Running game will be more unpredictable with emergence if RBs. QB just has to prove he can improve mentally in big time scenarios. Defense will be in the top half of sec. which will be enough for a good year. Run D will be very good. Pass D has to improve. Increased pass rush is a given an may help the pass D. Seems the norm is 8 wins. If everything works in their favor, 9-3. But could go 6-6 easily. Anything under that should not happen and would be cause for concern.
2019 should be their year to make a lot of noise.

Gray was the #2 receiver with 41 for 709 yards & 5 Tds; avg over 17+ ypc. Only 1 receiver in SEC had a higher ypc and >700 yards receiving.

MSU has 6 receivers 6-3 or >; most are inexperienced but do have talent.

TEs have excelled in camp; look more emphasis on them this year.

i'm a dog fan. I like nachos and tacos and burritos. Sometimes i whistle when i'm on an enjoyable stroll. My first cassette tapes were Billy Joel's greatest hits, Garth Brooks album with Thunder Rolls, Steve Miller Band's greatest hits and the eagles greatest hits. I think i was maybe 9 or 10 at that time. That was a great christmas. I like fishing and catching fish. My favorite style of beer is cold.
