The University of Alabama marching band will perform their halftime show, featuring a tribute to their 16 national championships, at the South Lake Carroll High School game this Friday outside of Dallas. The state of Texas has been a huge and successful focus in recruiting for both athletics and prospective students at Bama since the SEC was expanded. I routinely see UA billboards in the Houston area and lots of script A's on the back of vehicles when driving around Texas. I'm sure the full band will be an impressive site at a high school game.

Alabama is a backup school for students that can't get into a Texas University.

I don't live in Houston, but drive through there a couple times a week. I've noticed a few scattered around the city. Don't see anywhere near the amount of Bama stuff as I do LSU stuff. I remembering going into an Academy store in southeast Texas and seeing more LSU wear than Aggie or Longhorn.

Most of the kids from Texas have 30+ ACTs and get tons of money.

I don't know if that means they can or can't get into Texas schools, but they are almost all high achieving kids who we bribe with lots of scholarship money.

Is this what you tell yourselves after we hand pick all the best recruits out of that state and leave you with the leftovers?
