I dont post much, I really enjoy observing fellow LSU fans and people close and not so close to the program but let me say my piece here....

I am not going to trash Les Miles as a man or a representative of the university or the state I was born in, he has done a great job at that.

He has really maintained what Saban brought back to the program, although I am not a Saban apologist (he left us for Miami not Alabama). Les has an incredible record as our coach for these last 11 years but what Miles apologists are missing is what most are saying here. The last 5 years is what he is being judged on and if you look at the repeated patterns (especially on the offensive side of the ball) and continuing the lack of development for QBs, slipping on recruiting, the man is the singular problem with this.

Jamarcus was the last good QB we had, guess who he had his tutelage from? JIMBO, THATS right, Skyler Green, Devery Henderson, Michael Clayton, Mauck, Joseph Addai, remember how those players and our bruising offense made you feel in Death Valley? It was under JIMBO

People we were LUCKY to win the 2007 BCS Title, we had to have 3 teams lose in the same weekend and win the SEC title just to have a shot. We lost to two inferior teams (especially Arkansas at home) when that was arguably one of the best teams we've ever had. We were clearly the favorite that year in the country. Minus the Florida game, when was the last time we willed ourselves to a win and showed that mental toughness like the 2003 or this team? You know what analysts say about that team? ONLY TEAM TO WIN THE TITLE WITH 2 LOSSES, WHAT TYPE OF LEGACY IS THAT FOR THAT TEAM??? Ask yourself how was Miles the key to winning the title???

In 2011, we had an excellent chance at winning another national championship in our backyard for the 3rd time in the last 10 years, and what do we do? We have no gameplan and get blasted at home and never even get past the 50. How is it that Jarrett Lee never even gets a chance in that game? How is it that JJ starts over Lee during the season when clearly the team was behind Lee??? Ask yourself, what did Miles do to get us there? He held us hostage for a raise for fricking Arkansas?? Really?

The poor clock management (2009 Ole Miss, 2013 Tennessee really?) Calling timeout in last weeks game at the end? Seriously? The penalties, the undisciplined teams and the slow starts, when is the last time we have we jumped on someone and kept the pedal down the whole
game?

You let Ryan Perriloux and Mathieu go but kept that abomination that was JJ including JJ getting drunk the night before the title game and getting dragged into the hotel by a senior DB along with all the seniors asking Miles before game to start Lee and that they would not play for JJ and yet he still did what he did to us. Laugh all you want, it meant alot for everyone in this state, we are PROUD, and frick you Bama fans, you are the same inside.

You turned down Bridgewater, Dak was just a TE, you got Russell Shepard for what? You hired Crowton and Cameron along with Peveto and we had to fricking beg for you to hire Orgeron (a recruiting legend and a man who truly loves this state), you hired a known failure at DC as our DC, the least qualified individual, its beyond ridiculous.

You let Eddie Lacy and Landon Collins leave our own backyard, they went to Dutch Town HS, 10 miles away from the campus, how do you let that happen?

We have had some great wins and nailbiters with Les and I thank him for what hes done for us in his 11 years but I have never seen an LSU team (yes I was there for the Dinardo years) get pushed around at night in Death Valley like we did against Arkansas and not recover, the way we lost to Bama and Ole Miss, the team isnt ready, this team doesnt show any passion or heart nor pride for our state. This has been the tune since 01/09/2012 and thats on Les, the program is in a downslide and its real people. Ask yourself, how come Landry, Hunter, Kwon, Odell Beckham, Jeremy Hill and various other recent graduates are tearing it up in the NFL but played on mediocre LSU teams?

Before anyone calls me a negatiger, I supported Miles from day one and argued with many a good friends defending him and his legacy but you cant escape the facts and results, its time for a change and everyone knows it.

Lastly, I want everyone to look up how our state/university got the name "Fighting Tigers". Can Les Miles be considered a Fighting Tiger with his efforts and moves the last 5 years? Are you a proud Louisiana fighting tiger? I am and I am about my state, university and what is best for our program not Les Miles.

I'm sick of people saying how much they love and respect Miles as a man, but it's time for him to go. As if it makes it okay to force out the best coach LSU has ever had. It's high road bs.

Anyway, I didn't read your whole post because after you said recruiting had been slipping and Jamarcus was the last good QB I really didn't care anymore. LSU has been great recruiting and continues to do so. I guess you forgot about Mettenberger. LSU led the SEC in offense only two years ago under Miles and Cameron.

Honestly, the only complaint I have about Miles is the fact that he lets our best players leave as sophomores and juniors. I shouldn't say lets them leave because it's their choice as men, but my point remains. The early departures has hurt us, and I wish Miles could keep the better players around longer a la Vadal Alexander.

Thanks for the feedback, I agree but Mettenberger was a top Juco player after getting the boot from UGA, we were getting a rented player similar to Cam and Auburn, I never felt like he was truly our recruit.

It's true we didn't recruit him, but we did have him for two years. He only started one, and we led the SEC that year in offense. You can't say he wasn't developed at all the year he was a backup.

I hope Miles is back next year with Brandon Harris, Malachi Dupre, and Leonard Fournette as juniors.

eta: Corrected, Mettenberger started two years at LSU.

Actually, he started for two years. The first year we finished 94th in passing offense. His last year was his 3rd year in our system and that was his good year. Before that he played a year at Butler Community College and was in UGA's system prior to that. His good year at LSU was with Cam though.

You're right, my bad.

So he developed and got better? I messed up my stats, and it seems you might have proven me right anyway.

Doesn't matter though, my main point is that Miles is the best coach LSU has ever had, and he should remain the coach.

Honestly, implementing a whole new system when our best players are going from sophomore to junior years might hurt more than help. Hard to say on that since it's just speculation. But the chances of any coach replicating the success Miles has had is very low simply because he's done better than anyone else has at LSU.

I don't disagree that he developed and had a very good final year. But he has been the exception lately. Our QB development has been slow and lacking for years.

That's a fair assessment, but Arkansas was the better team in 2007. LSU had the better record and won a national title, but Arkansas had the better team.
