Speaking from experience, as I have an autistic son...it’s pretty likely Mike Leach is autistic. No social skills at all and just says whatever comes to his head. Doesn’t give two shits what anyone thinks about and doesn’t “pose” waiting for the outraged reactions to the things he says.

Neurotypical folks who just say outrageous shite for shock value often wait for the responses. Autistic folks don’t do that. They just say it and move on with their lives.

Fans that care more probably make more noise

There's so many different reasons for not having as many fans at a bowl game, even for a championship. That has little bearing on how much they care, or how loud they yell at home.

Who gets loud for Kentucky?

He coached there when Tim Couch was the QB. They were pretty salty then. I remember that game in Little Rock that he is referencing. It was one of the top 5 loudest games I can remember.

There’s this (absurd) notion of ‘if you come in my house I’ll shoot ya.’ I do have a Viking axe by the bed if I need to whack someone. … My wife bought me a Viking axe – the axe side curls down so you can grab the adversary around the neck and you can use it to climb walls, as a grappling hook.’

I remember hearing him at some point refer to the Viking axe. It is a "bearded battle axe". When asked what he could do with such an item, he said he sometimes likes to just check it out while watching TV.

It is a wicked looking weapon and would definitely be an interesting item to own.

Leach is about to get PAID.

He can coach, and he is making a name for himself in the media. With all these jobs about to open up, it's a smart strategy.

I wouldn't want him at LSU or Texas A&M if I were a fan of those schools. Those schools recruit at an elite level and they'd be better off with a first rate prostyle coach. Like Bret Bielema.

I could see him in Fayetteville. He'd do well. The Hogs would love him for a while.

He's doing the exact same things he's done for years. He just hasn't stuck anyone's kid in a shed lately. He a solid coach, funny guy, and he'll win you 8-9 games a year with crazy pass numbers. The run game will never be special and the defense will always be below avg to avg.

The places in the SEC where I think Leach would be a good fit and his system/winning would fit well and people wouldn't get frustrated with it

- Arkansas
- Mississippi State
- Ole Miss
- Kentucky
- South Carolina
- Florida (this one is not like the others but I'll explain)
- Missouri

These are all places that need to be different than the Alabama's and Georgia's of the world. They need their own specific style that lends to recruiting guys who fit that style. Leach would be entertaining and win a minimum of 7-8 games every year at somewhere like Arkansas, and he'd have a team with veterans and have a Top 10-15 team every 3-4 years.

Honestly I think he'd be hell on wheels at Florida. His defenses would be the same they've always been, attacking and hit or miss, but with more athletes, and his offense would have more athletes at every place. Their teams would go nuts, and the fanbase would love it.

I think he'd be an awful fit at Alabama, LSU, Tennessee, Georgia and Texas A&M. A&M because they already have the Tech issues and are about to fire a guy for winning 8 a year, Tennessee, LSU and Georgia because they'd quickly tire of all that stuff. Auburn would probably fit in here too.

Leach is originally from Wyoming/Utah so that area of Washington is perfect for him. At 56 he may look at other jobs but I just don't see him wanting to go to an SEC school.

I would too. I've always liked watching his teams play. Very competitive.

This is rich from a fan of a school that has a losing record to Kentucky.

Hopefully clutching those great teams of yours from decades past keeps you warm at night.
