SURPRISE TEAM Everyone had LSU buried before the season, here they are at 7-0, I don't think they run the table but 10 wins will be a solid year and a preseason top 4 team in 2016.

DISAPPOINTMENT Auburn with the expectations and hire of Muschamp, amazing how Muschamp's stock has gone down.

BEST COACHING JOB Florida with the talent left over especially on offense, solid job and is still in the playoff chase with one loss with a potential rematch with LSU or Ole Miss or a 1 loss Bama in title game.

The surprise team for me is Florida. I expected them to be better, but I figured the East would come to UGA-Tennessee with UGA winning that battle.

I think Florida is the surprise team too. Georgia being so terrible is pretty surprising too. I'd put both of those over LSU.

LSU was ranked #14 preseason AP, #13 in the coaches, and no one is that shocked they haven't lost yet. It's like you bought into this "no respect" coachspeak or something.

Taking off my crimson glasses, here's how I see it...

SURPRISE TEAM Without a doubt it's Alabama. Everyone had them buried after Ole Miss and heading into Athens

DISAPPOINTMENT No question it is Alabama. Preseason #2. Suffered another loss to Ole Miss and has lucked out wins against Arkansas and Tennessee. Despite all of the recruiting, the offense is an inconsistent mess, ST is still an issue, and the team overall is one of the most penalized teams in the SEC. The team is an obvious dropoff from previous years.

BEST COACHING JOB Saban. Despite having Jake Coker at QB, Saban has the Tide in contention for the Playoff yet again.

Player of Year Jake Coker. Undefeated as a starter and has led the Tide to two Top 10 road victories. AJ Who?

Not sure if getting caught roiding your players' up qualifies. If they hadn't gotten caught though...

McElwain learned from the best in Saban, 5 stars on roids much better than 2/3 stars on roids

Surprise team HAS to be UF...preseason ranked 4th - 6th in the east by most. Mizzou was ranked ahead of them by many, along with the hype machine of UT.

Several people picked them to win the west or at least come in second. They will end up third, which is the new norm for them.

I don't know about roids, but Saban does some sketchy stuff through the cracks recruiting every year. It has to be a violation to visit a high school campus 3 times a week for a month or 2. I know for a fact this has been done while at LSU and he also had private conversations with academic staff about eligibility. He's a great football coach and his players really respect him, but he bends the rules to get some of the dumbest human beings on the planet into an academic institution. I'm sure everyone does, but you don't hear much about guys leaving Bama because of academics. Lacy had no shot at qualifying and ended up there and I'm sure there are several other cases there and probably most places. It seems like LSU loses guys every semester due to grades and SEC steps in all the time to make tigers sit out. They ball busted PP7 so he couldn't join in the spring. I just don't hear about this happening at Bama.
