there are loopholes to it with early enrollees, grey shirts, and having a large amount of roster spots.

Harbaugh must be taking recruiting advice from Nutt

Of course, but I thought the Big Ten had a pretty ironclad only sign 25 policy. I know you can get away with 1-2 greyshirts, but +4 seems like a bunch.

When Harbaugh was coaching at Stanford he said:

quote:

“College football needs Stanford. We’re looking not for student athletes but scholar-athletes. No other school can carry this banner. The Ivy League schools don’t have enough weight [because of their low athletic level]. Other schools which have good academic reputations have ways to get borderline athletes in and keep them in.”

“Michigan is a good school and I got a good education there,” he said, “but the athletic department has ways to get borderline guys in and, when they’re in, they steer them to courses in sports communications. They’re adulated when they’re playing, but when they get out, the people who adulated them won’t hire them.”

Now he's pulling every shady stop to turn Michigan into an SEC-caliber program.

I guess EVERYONE forgot about that.

No, I'm an Alabama fan. I'm not scared of Michigan. Just pointing out the insane hypocrisy. He was criticizing his own alma mater for shady recruiting, now he's there, doing it. It's incredible.

Funny how little bitching you hear about SEC recruiting now that Urban and Harbaugh are in the B1G. Those guys can bend the rules with the best of them.

I think we just find it hilariously hypocritical after all the holier than though bullshite we heard from the B1G for the past decade about oversigning.

Meyer was the one that went in and said frick the BIG10 gentlemen's agreement and they all lost their minds.

Now that there is someone up there that can recruit on par with him he wants regulations?

The NCAA allows you to sign 100 recruits as long as you have slept with each one of them. That is how Michigan was able to sign 29.

Seriously though, believe if they have a number of recruits who have already started school, those somehow do not count against the number of 25 set by the NCAA. Article about it today in The Advocate (Baton Rouge paper).
