Maybe because they don't have cowbells in Blacksburg?

Sources tell FootballScoop that Dan Mullen is a serious candidate at Virginia Tech LINK / …

...or perhaps because Dak is leaving.

That'd be a great hire for Tech

That actually seems like a really good spot for him. He can basically build exactly what he has at Mississippi State except instead of having to beat the SEC West he has to beat

- UNC
- Pitt
- Miami
- UVA
- Duke
- Georgia Tech

I'm sure he's a serious candidate, but they can't afford him and he isn't leaving.

As much as I hate it, if there's a job that makes sense, it's this one. Easy arse schedule and a great program.

However, keep in mind that Scott Roussel is an Ole Miss man and has let his biases slip through a few times before. So, take all with a grain of salt there.

Yea, of all the places that he has been mentioned for this one really seems to fit him and his style and what he has already done at State as the best fit.

I don't know if it is legit or not, but on the surface it seems reasonable.

Vandy is the most beaten down fanbase in P5 football.

Aggies outnumbered Vandy fans at their own house and at the end of the game it was 99% Aggies.

Some commentators looking mighty stupid predicting that Vandy would win or even make a game of it.

Nah, I just don't see them paying 10 million or more in buyout, and then paying him over 5 million a year. There aren't that many programs who will do that for a new coach, and they aren't one of them.

Dan and Tebow left UF at the same time. Could very well happen that Dan and Dak leave MSU at the same time, although I don't want it to happen.

It would be a good move for him getting out of the SEC West. He is a great recruiter and coach and could have a lot of success in the All Cup Cakes conference.
