Maty Mauk is the white Quincy Carter:

- He can run and throw
- He has won games on his talent
- He has thrown 3+ picks in a game to lose in horrible fahsion
- He loves cocaine

Never snorted coke. Having said that the main concern here should be that the kid get his life in order. This drug problem has already negatively effected his life. Hopefully he can come through this with his life on track. Not only has he wrecked his football opportunity, but he has risked his chance at a degree from a really good college.

But when you piss away your starting QB spot at an SEC school over riding the white lightening.....you just may have a major problem. Kid needs help in a bad way.

The real sad part here is that, by all accounts, he had gotten himself clean and was currently doing the right thing. He had a chance to put this behind him, but now with the video (even though it's old) it really leaves Odom no choice.

I had my fun at parties a long time ago. Now I have other responsibilities. Booze and women were my vices of choice and I thought it was a good time. Schedule 1 drugs are nothing but trouble.

I said this in the other thread. If this video is the undisclosed reason for his earlier suspension than it's a crock that just because it got released that Mizzou is trying to save face. If it is unrelated then goodbye Maty! Don't understand how he can get in trouble for the same thing just because Pinkel kept it behind closed doors.

Imagine if the NCAA or SEC really had a drug policy in place

That is sad, but you never know the risk when you do something like that.

For many of us such a video might get us fired from our jobs, even if it was taken before we had that job.

Yeah it sucks. By all accounts Pinkel does the right thing and keeps the video hush hush and now Mauk gets nailed again for it. I'm not a fan of my team's starting QB being into cocaine but can't even imagine what percentage of all former NCAA players we are looking at who just don't have a video attached to them. Can't imagine growing up in this video/gotcha world.
