Has he been a bust so far? I remember he was a stud 5 star player but he looks likes he gained way too much bad weight.

I wouldn't call him a complete bust but, yeah he is not getting nearly as much playing time as I had expected and it may be due to his weight. Stoops has said he has been inconsistent as well

5 star on one site. 3 star on another. He can’t get consistent snaps.

There's no polite way to say it but yes. Kid is Charmin soft, can't or won't control his weight and he still has terrible form (he plays way too high). He's had maybe 5 good impact plays in his years at Kentucky. Some of that is from unrealistic expectations his freshman year, he never got to redshirt, and his first two seasons all they asked him to was occupy a blocker or two to keep the linebackers clear instead of trying be disruptive in the backfield.

He's got a few games to prove people wrong and this year has been his best but he gets driven off far to often because he stands straight up at the snap. Maybe Bamas coaching staff could have done something with him but he likely would have been recruited over and cut by now.

Haynesworth was a two time pro bowl player and 2008 defensive player of the year. He didn't get fully lazy until he signed that major contract.

Elam has never made any impact.

He's made an impact, just not on the football field.

Makes you wonder what would have happened if he had chosen bama.

It was a terrible comparison. It really ends with both being highly recruited DTs in high school. Haynesworth dominated in college and early on in the NFL. Elam hasn't done shite.
