I think he's got one foot out the door. Recruiting was much harder than he expected being in the shadow of the ACC.
I could see NC State, but his dream gig would be Miami.

I made a thread earlier this year basically saying the same thing. Martin is a good coach and gets a lot out of his players, but I don't care to watch his brand of basketball. It's a slow paced, grind it out, defense oriented almost boring style of basketball that is not fun to watch

Thats the thing isn't it? He hasn't had really any big name recruits other than Dozier who would've come here regardless and he has still managed to have us in the top 25 for a while. He just can't close a season. Does great until February. Thats not recruiting thats straight up coaching.

Who was that creepy looking coach you guys had before Martin again?
That's the type of coach I expect at South Carolina. Sticks around for a while and never accomplishes anything except the occasional upset. Kind of like Martin, I suppose.

Honestly? no fricking clue. Thats what I meant with the Martin is the biggest troll comment. Has he made us better? yes absolutely.
If as SEC fans we are honest with ourselves, most of us could give a shite about basketball. Martin has made our team just good enough to start caring about/having interest in our team. however, even in 2 of our best seasons ever, we are still 3rd in the conference and potentially missing out on a tournament that involves 64 frickin teams.

The rebuild he has done here, even with the lack of tourney appearances, has been a very solid job.
Do you remember just how bad the situation was here at the end of Horn's tenure. It was probably worse than what Missouri is going through now.

I am not saying Frank Martin hasn't turned the program around. But missing the NCAA tourney for 2 straight years when you have your best team ever.... that'll sting and I think Frank Martin will see the writing on the wall when the season concludes. He just will never break through at South Carolina, he's reached the ceiling there.
