Plans have changed and we can't leave until tomorrow so we gave up the hotel. So no I need to redo our trip plans. Coming in Atlanta on I20W where should I try to park to get MARTA for the GA Dome?

All help is appreciated.

Honestly, and I am the biggest MARTA proponent in the City probably............but I wouldn't park at any of the MARTA stations West of the Dome. I'd suggest going ahead and driving around 285 and parking at Dunwoody or driving into Brookhaven and parking at Lindbergh or Brookhaven/Oglethorpe.

I'd either shoot up I-75/85 and find garage parking in midtown or up to Buckhead/Brookhaven... or go park somewhere along the eastern line. Do not park on the west line

Anything on the west line near I20 is in the ghetto and I wouldn't recommend parking there. I would go east of Downtown and park at Inman Park, Edgewood, East Lake or Avondale station.

Are you familiar with Uber (app on iPhone)? I wouldn't take MARTA. Find a parking deck as someone else mentioned and grab Uber.

The Inman Park lot is safe and I never see it full. I would recommend that one.

You can park in front of my house and walk to the Avondale Station for $40.

Another good option. What I typically do as a local.

I will offer a safe, affordable alternative to Uber called SOGRide. It leaves Medlock Park at 11 AM for Downtown Decatur. $125. Great tunes and conversation.

Do NOT park north of Lindbergh Center. On the north side, Lindbergh Center is pretty much perfect. Large parking deck, and you can take either northbound line, which cuts your wait time for a train in half. I used to park at the Perimeter Mall (Dunwoody) and that was a major mistake because (a) more stops = longer ride, and (b) you have to take the correct line coming out of the Five Points hub. If you park at Lindbergh, you can take either the red or gold line.

I'd recommend parking at Inman Park and taking the West train to the Dome. It's also close to some cool restaurants/bars in Little 5 Points (the Porter, Wrecking Bar, etc).

The other positive with parking on the East Side on the Blue Line is the train ride back is 100% easier. 10% of the MARTA crowd is taking that line while the other 90% are cramming onto the North trains. You can just walk from the Dome to Five Points and easily grab the first East bound train to Inman/East Lake/Decatur.
