Yep, good coach but not a good recruiter. This game is a perfect example: MSU is obviously the more talented team.

Eta: and yes I'm not happy about this game

2 postseason appearances in a row. Will be three next year. That's what we need right now. It'll be a long grind.

Relevance is really important for teams like UGA. But, like Auburn, I think UGA needs appearances and some showing of success. Recruits and coaching candidates need to be shown that competing at a high level is possible and will be responded to with the fan support and other things that aren't there a lot of the time.

Let that game slip by missing too many layups etc. around basket. I like Fox, good coach.

Interesting to hear from those fans that support a University that can't keep a coach for cheating or because they don't like black coaches, and on top of it all can't make the tournament huh?

Yep. That will get a more energized fan base and following and create, at least a little, basketball brand recognition. That's where we need to be right now and is the next step.

I agree that stability and the slow build is most important, but obviously you still need to mix in some success. A few years making the tourney won't do it, nor will one or two isolated tourney runs. Look at us under Ellis. #1 Seed, couple sweet sixteens, followed by a decade of absolute shite.

Good for UGA is Atlanta has a lot of talent, problem is Kentucky, Duke, and UNC are close by.

If we can start lock down parts of Atlanta we could be real good

But you're not just competing with out of state schools. Georgia Tech has more basketball brand recognition (though they have a far shittier coach) and typically better basketball fan support than does UGA. Beating them for the recruits is probably even more important than trying to fight off UNC/UK/Duke, etc.

Fox is a good coach. He's doing a lot without much overall support. UGA's basketball fanbase is notoriously fickle, and Stegeman is in need of demolition. He's definitely the best y'all have had since Smith.

Lol, coming from the fan of a school who fired a national championship winning black coach.
