After spending the entire season as Golson's backup, Zaire started the 2014 Music City Bowl. He completed 12 of 15 passes for 96 yards with one touchdown, and ran for 96 yards on 22 carries scoring one touchdown leading Notre Dame to a 31–28 victory over LSU and earning the game's MVP

That is some chutzpah for an LSU fan to say that.

There's potential with Zaire but Nussmeir has no idea how to utilize a QB, any QB.

It's hard to believe coach Mac would really start Zaire when he doesn't fit his system . He didn't change the offense for running QBs in the past. It's time for one of the young QBs to play , if it means they start next year under a new head coach .

But I agree, Zaire isn't a fit for McElwains offense. I have no idea why he'd want to go there.

Maybe we're finally ditching the shitty run heavy pro style approach that's made the last 7 years so horrendous and going back to the spread?

Why the past two coaches have insisted on turning UF into a pro-style offense is a mystery to me. Florida was a spread team when very few were but now it's the reverse and that makes very little sense at all. There's a reason so many college teams run spread and spread+pro over pure pro-style. The spread minimizes the talent deficits that are inherent in the college game.

That's a possibility for sure. Especially with franks waiting in the wings as well.

IMO, Zaire would be quite good in an Urban Meyer power spread.

We talk shite about our own too. And LSU having QB issues does not disqualify their fans from pointing out the ssme at another school

Why do UF fans have this holier than thou complex all the sudden after they beat LSU? Seriously?

2 games later, they got annihilated by 5 TDs on national television.

Why would the rule be altered?? What other schools are being penalized by this rule?

Gaytors are easily the third best team in the state of Florida.

McElwain's confidence in his own ability to develop a QB is apparently in tatters.

Poor Felipe, he could've gone to L6U and carried on their tradition of excellence at the QB position.

I forgot how that pass wasn't thrown all that well- Cleveland's open by a good yard when the pass is thrown. Thankfully, Appleby was going against a team with a mediocre secondary.

1) SEC has to change transfer rule for him to play at UF.
2) He has to beat other QBs at UF to start.

IMO - one of the 2 doesn't happen. Take your pick.
