"There is no talk of going juco or transferring," said Webster with a laugh. "He is at Mississippi State and we haven't discussed anything about leaving and that is not a concern. We heard a lot of everything yesterday and today with a lot of rumors and even heard (playing basketball) overseas. But he is a Bulldog and I don’t think they gave away his scholarship."

This is a more accurate statement. If Mississippi has a top-50 player (Nick Weatherspoon this year, Robert Woodard next year), they are either going to State or going out of state. Way it's always been.

What state the most racism in it's history? Which school has the biggest black eye from that era? What race is normally the vast majority of people playing basketball?
See how this is a huge hindrance for OM in the basketball landscape?
So it hurts basketball but not football? Hmm..

I'm shocked their beautiful campus doesn't help more with recruiting.

It has been in the past. This is the first full cycle with the arena open.

So no one knows how much Malik's handler was paid ? No rumblings at all ? Any Kentucky posters know anything about it ?
All I've ever heard about basketball recruiting is that it's even more dirty than football... If my alma mater and its boosters are going to really start playing the recruiting game off the hardwood I want an idea of what a number is for top 10 player in the country.

Not anymore than anyone else that's successful at a D-1 basketball program.
Basketball recruiting is dirty, but it's dirty for a lot of coaches and a lot of programs. I'm willing to bank every coach in this conference has crossed that line for a recruit to some degree. I wouldn't be casting stones.
ETA: And no offense, just look at Ole Miss's women's basketball program.

Serious question here; if a college football coach gets a show cause from the NCAA, is he (or she) free to coach another sport like men's or women's basketball, or does the show cause cover all sports?

If you have to ask you can't afford it.

For real - I heard $300k, and then some extra for coming back (~$100k)

For fricks sake, shut up. Start a thread about it or something. You're shittying up a thread that some of us outsiders would like to read the posts that are actually related to the OP.

Malik is coming back to Mississippi State for his sophomore year to try and improve his stock and become an NBA lottery pick.. This is big news for Ben Howland and the MSU basketball program.
There's your entire thread... Now get over 38-17 already... It's almost Memorial Day.
